Sophie had been weirdly disappointed when Lord Cassius answered Keefe's imparter. She had been helping Edaline make Mallowmelt when she had a sudden urge to call Keefe. No particular reason, just to hear one of his corny jokes. She couldn't believe that she was unmatchable! She just needed to hear his voice, as a reassurance that everything would be OK.

When she saw Lord Cassius instead of that sweet smirk that had become endearing to her, her heart sank. "Oh, it's you." she said.

"Were you expecting someone else?" he asked dryly. She wanted to scream and say, Yes, you evil little cockroach! This is Keefe's imparter! Of course I was expecting someone else!

She settled with, "Uh, yeah. This is Keefe's imparter, isn't it? But it's fine. Just tell him to call me back. He clicked away, and she went to her room to find Iggy had been played with. She smiled, knowing Dex had been there. Iggy was bright red, with perfect beach waves.

As soon as she picked him up, he let out the stinkiest fart to end all stinky farts. "Iggy!" she complained as she waved her hand in front of her face.

"Is everything alright, Miss Foster?" Asked Sandor, with as squeaky a voice as ever.

"Yeah, just another atrocious Iggy fart." She said with a face.

"I see," he replied and went back to his post outside her door. Sophie had just sat down to do her homework, when she heard her imparter ringing. She picked it up, and Keefe's trademark smirk came in to view.

"Well, well. Look who we have here," he joked.

"Umm, your the one who called me." She retorted. He looked a little nervous.

"Excited to see the one and only Lord Hunky Hair, Foster?" She cursed her face for portraying how happy she was to see him.

"You wish," she said, forcing herself to look serious.

"So, why did you call me earlier?" He said. If she didn't know better, she would have guessed there was a little hope in those ice blue eyes of his. But that couldn't be. He never had any feelings for her, right?

"Uh, Foster? Earth to Foster here! I asked why you called me earlier."

"Oh, right." She had to come up with an excuse, and quick. The teasing would never end if she told him the real reason. "Just... wanted to see how thing are going with your dad, ya' know." It was a stupid excuse, but it seemed to work.

"Oh, things are all right," He said. "Hey, you wanna meet at Havenfield? There's... something I wanted to tell you."

"Sure. Meet you at the gates in five minutes?"

"Ok, I can't wait to see Wynn and Luna again!" He clicked off, and Sophie tried to suppress her giddiness as she got ready to go. What was he going to ask her? Would she be able to answer it?

She put on a slightly sparklier tunic than she would normally, and headed down to the gates at the cliffs. Wynn and Luna ran up behind her, and begged for treats. Luckily, she had some swizzlespice on hand. She tried to teach them some tricks to no avail. "One day, you will  learn to fly in a loop," she said.

Someone slow clapped behind her, and she whipped around to find Keefe, smiling his crooked grin at her. "Nice job, Foster! You should be a circus trainer." She rolled her eyes, but she was sure her face was as red as the shirt Keefe was wearing. "Oh come on, Foster. Lighten up! How 'bout we go over to Calla's tree, that always loosens you up."

"Ok, but only if you promise to play nice."

"And what makes you think I wouldn't?" he asked, giving her a sweet smile. She shoved him, and he put his arms up in surrender. "Ok, ok, I guess i deserved that," he said with a sigh. "Now come on, there's still something I need tell you."
