Cuddles Version 2- DDM

My first DDM in a long long time! It took longer than I meant because I've been working nonstop and it's been a while since I've written so it took me a few days to really get the ideas flowing. Please keep leaving requests I love them so much! I'm working on two other requests right now and they should both be published within a week.

As for this DDM, it was requested by @Harrystylesfannn I honestly love the idea behind this one so much and it kinda reminds me of that old TikTok trend where girls would start cuddling with their fathers while they were watching TV or reading. Also, as you can see, this is version 2 of this DDM. I had two ideas for how to write this one and I couldn't decide between the two so I just wrote both! The other version is still a work in progress, but if you guys like this one I can publish the Version 1.

Age ~13/14

"Hey Dad?" I peek my head into Dad's home office. He's busy with something at his computer.

"Yes love?" Dad asks absent-mindedly, continuing to type.

"Um, are you busy?" I ask, stepping further into the room.

Dad sighs and turns around in his chair. "Uh... yeah, I am kind of in the middle of something. What do you need?"

"Can I have some cuddles?" I ask quietly.

Dad smiles. "Of course. You can always have snuggles. I should be done in like an hour, and then I can give you my full attention, sound good?"

I nod and turn to leave the room. I kind of want cuddles right now, but Dad is busy so I can wait. I return to my room and watch a show on Netflix. After two episodes I realize it has definitely been more than an hour and Dad still hasn't come to snuggle with me. I stand up from my bed and walk towards Dad's office. He's still focused on something at his computer.

"Dad?" I ask, stepping into the room. "Did you forget?"

Dad looks at the time. "No, I'm sorry, this just ended up taking longer than I meant. Let me finish this email and then we can cuddle, ok?"

I wrap my arms around Dad from behind and rest my head on his shoulder, just like I used to when I was little.

"Hi," Dad says quietly, rubbing my arm. I'm not usually cuddly. Maybe because it's rainy and cold, or because I had a bad day, but I just want Dad to hold me and rub my back and talk with me about random stuff.

I watch Dad click 'Send' and I can't help but smile. Now I get Dad all to myself.

"Hello? This is Mr. Harry Styles." I feel my heart sink. Who knows how long this will take. I loosen my grip on Dad and go to lay on the couch next to his desk.

"Yes... uh-huh- right- let me pull up the chart-"

I zone out for a bit and listen as Dad talks and talks and talks. I realize he's not going to be done for a while and leave to lay down in my room. 

"Y/N?" Dad gently rubs my back and I slowly open my eyes. I must have fallen asleep. "Hey," Dad says quietly. "I'm sorry that took so long. Do you still want cuddles?"

I sit up and stretch. "Yes please," I say quietly.

Dad repositions himself so that he's sitting next to me, legs stretched out and back up against the pillows. I move so that I'm leaning into his shoulder and Dad places his arm around me and starts rubbing my shoulder.

It's quiet for a bit as Dad and I just cuddle together. I'm about to fall asleep again but Dad breaks the silence. "Any special reason you wanted cuddles?" he asks. "Or were you just feeling cuddly today."

"Mmm... both I guess?" I curl further into Dad. "Just because it's rainy and cold I guess."

"Anything you want to talk to me about?" 

I shake my head no. I can feel myself starting to fall asleep again and I'm too tired to respond.

Maybe Dad can tell because he stops asking me questions and starts humming softly. He alternates between rubbing my back and shoulders and playing with my hair. At this point I'm too tired to keep my eyes open and all I know is that Dad is rubbing my back and I don't want him to stop.

"I love you more than anything in this whole wide world. I hope you know that."
