The silence that once occupied the area was overrun by a mixed amount of bustling of little whispers hear and there, each soft word spoken unifying into one grand inaudible sound. But that was just it, a loud inaudible sound, maybe it attracted the guards but for these two strangers whose attention were locked upon each other, the noise just faded into their background. However, he still felt the insecurities that latched onto him as the many eyes laid upon them, though he did not know if she had the same feeling like he did at the moment. And that moment didn't last long either.

The big man had finally gotten up, supported by his lackies, and was beyond red in his facial skin color, his veins thumping in unison with the heavy breathing he produced from the gutter he calls a mouth. Yet, the girl called Addie did not shift her gaze, perhaps uninterested in the fact that he was now standing again or she just did not notice. But Riko was different from her, able to access the situation carefully and act before the fire spreads. As the man slowly walked toward her, an intimidating aura loudly emitting from his very being, he was suddenly felled once more and having a reunion with the cold, hard floor of the mess hall. Unlike Addie once again, he did not simply just leave the man alone only for him to get riled up once more; no, he toppled this man, restraining him, and shoving a blurry object in his face, a wooden straw taking into view as the man's eyes finally focused on the object. A slight smile formed on the man's face followed with a slight scoff, but as he looked into Riko's eyes, a cold sweat rolled down from his face. "He's going to kill me! I know it! It's in his eyes that this isn't a simple joke!" Riko grinned maniacally at the made up thoughts that best accurately depicted this man's unlucky situation. Very unlucky if one was to add an adjective to his misfortune, a quick and hard jab and his unlucky streak has ended, for the most part at least.

Riko stood before the man who curled up in his woes, inaudible screams of terror and eyes overflowing with water as he desperately held onto his own life. He would've stayed to watch, his clothes stained with the trickles of blood of this beast; but if he stayed, the girl would surely be gone, an opportunity he did not want lost. With a quick motion, he walked over to her and grabbed her wrist, quickly pacing to a less compact area while a majority of the people were occupied on this soon to be murder, a casual entertainment that brought life back to the inhabitants. But life was brought back to Riko not by the sight of on slaughter, but by the sight of this girl who shares the same predicament as him.

As soon as they felt what he thought was a safer, more secluded place, he paused and pulled Addie close so that from afar it looked to be just him. His eyes scanned the area, only peering so far so as to not draw attention to himself, before locking his gaze onto her. "Addie...you shouldn't be here," he spoke in a low tone, a bit of concern and irritation mixed in, "who brought you here?" Her expression that was locked on surprise slowly diminished as it was replaced with an annoyed look, "I did...I brought myself here." "Why? What did you do!?" She looked away for a second, peeking to Riko before speaking once more, "...I robbed a major bank and somewhat got away with it." He rubbed his face again, pacing in a tiny circle before taking a huge sigh before her, "...somewhat?" "I somewhat failed and somewhat succeeded. Well, I failed in that I ended up here, but the money...long gone," she smiled painfully, avoiding eye contact once more with his burning gaze

Loud thumps...louder and louder bangs....

...Yelling and shouting...screams of agony and pain...

Why...for who? From who?...I don't know...but this agonizing sounds of loud thumping from who knows where is etching deep within my mind, preventing me from thinking straight....

...if I was a car on a road, I would've surely crashed...but I won't...for my path is laid before me...in all these noises and yells and tears...this is the only distinct and calming call that beckons me...

He took her by the shoulders and leaned in close, close enough for their breathing to be in sync, the oxygen replaced with carbon dioxide. Peering into her very being, he stayed silent until her view was attentive on him; and when she finally surrendered to his sudden spark of ambition, that was when he spoke softly and sternly towards her, "we'll escape together tomorrow."
