Chapter 10 - appa

|8:00 pm|

Jennie ran inside the hospital and asked for the room number her father was in.

"Room 131, 4th floor. Is everything okay?" The lady in the front answered the panicking Jennie's question. Jennie didn't have enough time to answer her question and sprinted to the elevator and slammed the 4th floor's button with her index finger.

While the elevator was going up she was repeatedly tapping her foot and checking her watch. When the elevator dinged, the door opened and she ran out and started scanning the area for room 131.

"Jen!" Jisoo yelled and Jennie turned around and saw her crying sister peeking herself out of room 131.

"There you are Jisoo!" Jennie ran the 20 feet between her and Jisoo and right before she entered the room, she heard a long high pitched beep. She froze and all the strength in her body vanished causing her to fall down on her knees.

"No no no no!" Jennie repeatedly screamed and roughly grabbed her hair. Nurses and doctors started running towards the room yelling 'code blue'.

"No! No! No! Daddy! You can't leave yet!" Jennie wickedly screamed with a river of tears gushing out of her eyes; feeling her heart rip piece by piece. With the last bit of her strength, she forced herself up and sprinted to her father... lifeless on the bed. She pushed the nurses out of the way and when she caught sight of her father with his eyes shut closed and mouth agape, she felt her world shatter and disintegrate. She let out a horrific scream and tightly held onto her father.

"APPA!" She screamed so loud it sounded like her vocal chords were about to rupture.

"Take her away!" The doctor shouted and 2 nurses grabbed Jennie by the arms and struggled to pull her away from her father. Grunts filled the room due to not being able to pull her away. Suddenly a familiar and somewhat healing touch struck her arm.

"Jennie... let go." Her mother with tears called out with a forced smile while the crying Jisoo was behind her.

"Eomma!" Jennie cried out and reached up to her mother like a terrified child. Her mother held Jennie then reached for Jisoo and held them together as her daughters cried their hearts out.

"I'm so sorry but I'm gonna have to ask y'all to exit the room and wait in the lobby." A nurse softly requested with panic in his voice. Jennie's and Jisoo's mom took control of the situation and followed the nurses orders.

1 hour later | 9:00 pm

During the hour, Jennie and her family settled down but they sat in a depressing silence, hoping that their father/husband was okay.

"H-He can't be gone eomma.." Jisoo sobbed onto her mother's shoulder. Jisoo - being the older sister - tried her best to keep her composure during all the difficult times in her and Jennie's life, and she finally broke down today. Knowing that Jisoo broke down shows how heartbreaking this is to her.

"Look. The doctor." Jennie said and stood up followed by her mother and sister.

"Any good news?" Jennie's mother asked. The doctor stood tall and sighed before answering, "We tried our best to resuscitate him but his body couldn't handle it. I am so utterly sorry."
