It's Monday morning and although I hate Mondays, I am willing to make an exception for this one. It's my first day. My first day at Williams&Co. and I could not be more excited. Williams&Co. deals with curbing the supply and demand curve. You need anything, we'll get it for you.

I hit the showers and started getting ready. I deserve to be the head of the finance department and yes I got it because it's a family business but I deserve to be there because I am a hard worker, I am dedicated and I am going to show everyone that.

I grabbed a to-go cup of coffee after dressing up and left for the office. I feel on top of the world just by saying office, my office.

I've been to the company a billion times but something about today makes it all surreal. I walk past Amy at the reception who gives me a big smile. Amy has been here long enough to see all of our first days from Jake's to Alex's. And now she is here for mine.

"Brian says hi and knock them dead." She told me.

Brian is her husband. They've been married for over 10 years now and they have become our family friends over time. They are good people.

"Thanks. I am so nervous." I told her as she was arranging files on her desk.

"Don't be, you'll do just fine. Besides, you're doing better than Alex did. He almost peed in his pants."

I laughed with her.

"Now hurry up, the C.O.O hates it when people are tardy."

That would be Jake. He's second in command until dad gives him the position then he becomes C.E.O and Alex becomes C.O.O. At the moment both Jake and Alex are the interim COO's but Alex becomes the permanent CEO after dad leaves and Alex will be the permanent COO.

I walked into my office and was awed with what I saw. It wasn't the way it was last week. The brown mahogany desk is bigger. There was a flower pot at the corner near my desk. A large company P.C was on the desk with the company logo as the screen saver. A plush carpet covered my floor. There was a shelf filled with files of previous financial records of different deals and of the different subsidiaries of the company. This was the parent company so we still keep tabs on the other companies. I had a beautiful painting on the wall. This was everything I expected, wanted and more.

"Do you like it?" Jake asked behind me.

I nodded. I turned around and saw my brothers and parents by the door.

"I know you didn't want us to make a deal out of this but my little girl's finally in the business." Dad spoke.

"You should have stuck with me in event planning but somehow your love for numbers and business outweighed your social skills. All in all I am proud of my little girl." Mom hugged me. "She's all grown up, next thing she'll be moving out."

"Mom." I hugged her back.

"Welcome officially to the world of corporate business." Alex told me.

"Guys, I am one of the employees. Dad treat me as you would any other person."

"Come on-"

"Mr. Williams, professionalism. You promised me we would be professional. That goes for all of you."

"Skye-"

"Jake. As the C.O.O. it is your job to be professional with all staff members including me."

"We promise. Right boys?" Dad spoke up.

"Yes sir."

"Thank you. Now let me get to work."

They gave me hugs and a thumbs up.
