It's been five days since I was allowed to come home and today is the day we're flying out to Amsterdam. When I brought the trip up to Dr Zane, he was reluctant to let me go, but he said I could if someone who has experience with my illness can come with me. Mom had volunteered to come with us.
After dad and Kai help us take the suitcases out of the car, Kai pulls me to the side.
"Promise you'll stay safe out there?"
"I promise Kai."
Kai hugs me to his chest and strokes my hair gently. I hug him back and rest my head against his chest.
There's a loud rumble and a familiar blue Ford comes to a stop in the space next to ours. I pull my head out of Kai's chest to see Jay pull a blue suitcase out of the boot of his car. I smile and slowly pull away from Kai. He kisses my forehead and climbs into the car with dad. Jay walks over to mom and I.
"Got everything?" Maya asks.
Jay nods and smiles at my mom.

When we board the plane, mom sits on the window seat, I sit in the middle and Jay is on the aisle seat. As the plane starts to crawl onto the runway, I feel a hand grasp mine. I look down and realise it's Jay who's holding my hand."Jay?"
Jay jolts before replying, "s-sorry, I can let go."
"No it's okay...I-I like it," I murmur the last part, feeling my face heat up a lot.
Jay starts to blush as well. I lift my feet onto the seat and rest my head against Jay's shoulder.
As the plane starts to take off, Jay tightens his grip on my hand. I squeeze back and hush him gently.
"I-I'm sorry...it's my first time on a plane."
"It's okay, you should have seen Nya the first time she was on a plane."
"Mom!"
Mom giggles, "she wouldn't stop screaming and crying."
"I was five!" I defend, leaning into Jay again.
Jay laughs and rests his head on mine.

When we get out of the airport, mom leads us to a taxi and they drive us to our hotel. The hotel we are staying at is three stories high. As we walk through the opening doors, a porter comes over with a luggage carrier. Mom and Jay place their suitcases on it before walking to the front desk. A minute later, she comes back with two keys. Mom hands Jay one key.
"You're in room 346 Jay, the room opposite ours."
Jay smiles and thanks her. Mom leads us to the elevator. After we're all in, mom presses the third-floor button. The elevator rattles as it takes us up to the third floor. Once we get out of the elevator, we walk down the left corridor and then down the second right. Jay walks into room 346 as mom unlocks room 344.
The room is quite big with a view out into the city below. There are two double beds on either side of the room. There is a desk at the front, below the wall-mounted TV.
I lay down and have a nap.

After a few hours of sleep, I get changed into a long pale blue summer dress with flowers embroidered on the waistline. I pull on a pair of white flats and walk out into the hallway. Jay is stood in the hallway wearing a fancy black tuxedo. He takes my arm and leads me out into the street. The streets are quiet, considering we're in one of the busiest parts of Amsterdam. All of the buildings are at least two stories high and are fancy, unlike the buildings back home.
Five minutes later, we arrive at a restaurant called the Wish House. Jay leads me inside and towards the front desk.
"Hi, I have a reservation, Jay Walker?"
The waiter nods grabs two menus and lead us into the back of the restaurant and out into the porch. Jay pulls my chair out and gestures for me to sit down. I sit down and Jay pushes my chair under the table. He sits opposite me and scans through the menu.
"Isn't that...a little too fancy?" I ask, gesturing to Jay's suit.
"Oh. This is the suit I've picked out for my funeral when I thought I was going to die."
"I-I'm sorry," I murmur, looking up at him.
"It's okay Nya."
The waiter comes back and we order food.
***
After we have eaten our food, Jay takes my hand and leads me outside. He leads me back to the hotel and into his room. Jay lays on the bed, pulls me to him and takes off his prosthetic."Jay what are you-"
Before I can finish, Jay leans down and kisses me.
Hey guys, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. It's very rushed but I like it. Hope you're all staying safe and well.
