It is admittedly strange to Amara de la Garza when she continues bumping into that boy from Nakatsuwa over the course of the summer months. The boy who she established a strange rapport with, one void of names or any basic forms of identifications — it was just them, their problems, and the park bench they sat on.
When school returns and her campus finds itself as the new home to Seido High after a gas leak and subsequent fire displaces them, she's embarrassed to find that he goes there — they've been living in the same neighborhood, two miles away from each other, for the last two years.
And that brings on another set of complications — her feelings, since they have grown immeasurably fast over the last three months during their fleeting encounters.
But she's sworn off dating for the sole reason that she isn't looking to stick around after graduation. Yet he persistently seeks her out. And if it wasn't enough to grapple with the fact that he feels a fraction of the same thing that she does, it's that he's stubborn about getting to her. They're doomed for heartbreak, she knows, but even her self-control isn't enough to stop him from getting close.

welcome to burn out 2.0!
characters are still the same but i've narrowed down conflict, changed the timeline, and the context. this won't be as slow of a burn as burn out was or text me, i can tell u they get together before the end .. and then some! not to mention i've gotten a full grasp on chris' personality, so this will definitely be better.
i'd like to put this on the record, there will be an eventual happy ending. just because that might seem murky at certain points as we go on but i promise LOL happy ending!
