It was dusk in washington when Gibbs received an unexpected call. Realizing that it was Ziva's number, he was pleased, but it was still very strange. What had happened? Hopefully nothing with Tali or DiNozzo.
Jethro was so lost in thought, he almost missed the call.
"Gibbs, I need your help," Ziva whispered on the other end of the line.
He was immediately concerned because David would never ask for help without a reason.

Something big must be going on.
"Ziva, where are you?"
"I am in Paris..."
Gibbs interrupted her: " Are DiNozzo and Tali okay?"
"As far as I know, yes," Ziva still replied very quietly.
"As far as I know," what does that mean? Aren't you with them? You know how much they love you. Especially Tony."
She sighed sadly.
"I know, but I can't involve them in this. It's too dangerous. Tali is only seven years old. Anyways, I just have this one more mission to finish in Paris."
"Ziva," Gibbs said softly, but she interrupted him: "Listen, here is a dead man. I just don't know what to do anymore, I was so sure. But without a profile, I don't know what to do."
"Hold on Ziva, i'll come and help you."
He heard a quite «thank you» and then just silence.

Would Sloane agree to a trip to Paris?
She didn't seem very enthusiastic about Ziva, but he couldn't figure it out.
He hoped she would help him because he really valued her judgments. She had become so important to the team lately.
So important to him.

He opened Jack's door and realized that it was only 5 in the morning, but she was already there.
"Good morning, what are you doing here already?"
Sloane looked at him confused.
"It's morning already? I didn't want to work too late today." She looked so exhausted.
Gibbs felt bad about asking her for a favor, but they could actually just take a short vacation in Paris.
A business trip. Just the two of them.
Gibbs smiled and looked at her.

"How would you feel about going to Paris with me?" Gibbs asked.
"I cannot. Work is blowing up in my face. I can't even really take a long lunch break without overdoing it."
Jethro looked at her worried. He just had to help her somehow.
"I'll talk to Vance," Gibbs said and left the office. Gibbs dialed Vance's number.
After the third ring, he finally picked up.
"Gibbs, it's only 5:15am, what do you want so early?"
"Listen, Ziva's in Paris and she needs our help. Do you think it would be possible to free up Sloane for a jerk-off? She's barely got any time to herself right now, and Ziva needs her help anyway."
"I had no idea she was under so much pressure. As long as ea helps Ziva, of course."
"Thanks, Leon."
The director wanted to say something, but Gibbs had already hung up.

Gibbs went back into Jack's office and found her asleep on her desk. She had put her head on the desk and wrapped her arms around it.
Jethro looked at her affectionately.
She was sweet, but it was just not healthy for her to work so much.
"Sloane," he whispered softly.
She lifted her head with a jerk and all the hairs of many a confused look on her face.
Gibbs smiled.
"Ziva is in Paris and needs our help. Would you please accompany me. Leon has given you a week off. Just think of it as a working vacation." Jack was speechless. A vacation with Gibbs in Paris. There are worse things....

In the early afternoon, Gibbs drove out to pick up Jack. Paris. When she got into his car, they remained silent the entire drive, because it was a pleasant silence. They were both happy to see each other.
At the airport they walked through a store and bought themselves something to drink.
A few minutes later their flight was called.
The plane was packed, but they found their seats without any problems. As soon as they sat down, Sloane noticed that their eyelids were getting heavy. She leaned her head against Gibbs' shoulder and a few seconds later fell asleep.
