Betty's Pov:
It was 6:30 as we agreed. I found a booth at Pop's and slid myself in. I sat their for awhile waiting for Jughead. After 10 minutes I decided to call. No response. I waited another 15 minutes and tried calling again. I tried a third time 5 minutes later... No response. I huffed out in exasperation. Was he in trouble? I knew he couldn't possibly be blowing me off. Could he? I heard the the bells on the door of Pop's jingle as the time passed and kept jerking my head around to see if it was him. After another 30 minutes it became clear to me he wasn't showing up. So I did the only thing I could and went home. I returned at 7:40 to find Jellybean watching a movie in the living room and Fp cleaning up after dinner. I threw my purse down when Fp started,

"My boy home?"

"No Mr. Jones. He never showed up." I responded solemnly. Waiting for him to reply. He set a dish down that he had been drying and walked towards me,

"He didn't show?" He asked, eyebrows furrowed together just the way Juggie's did.

"Yeah and I can't help but worry about him. He hasn't responded to any of my text messages or phone calls."

"Alright well you let me know if he does. I'm going to start telephoning some people soon if you don't get any response." He claimed. I nodded my head and plopped myself down on the couch beside JB, plunging my hand into the bucket of popcorn she was holding. I sunk into the couch as I shoveled popcorn into my mouth. We were towards the end of our movie when my phone buzzed,

I'm at a party. I won't be home til midnight.

My blood began to boil. I tried to think of every reasonable explanation as to why he would be out partying instead of coming home to be with his girlfriend. Instead of coming home to be with his family. I sighed and projected my voice towards the kitchen so Fp could hear me,

"Jughead is at a party and he claims he can't make it back home til midnight." I wait for Fp to turn around so I can see his facial expression. This time his eyebrows are raised in shock.

"A party? That doesn't sound like Jughead."

"No it doesn't." I whisper to myself, getting awkward glances from Jellybean. I try to stay up waiting for Jughead to get home. By 10 Jellybean and Fp go to bed and say goodnight. Of course Fp doesn't go to bed before making sure I'll be up to see that Jug comes home safe. I work through the set of movies we own and pop a random one in. I my eyes flutter more the later it gets and as hard as I tried I finally give into sleep.

Jughead's Pov:
Brett finally hands me my phone back before I leave to go home. I see all the missed phone calls and texts from Betty. My blood boils. Ditching the date, sure she'll forgive me. But not responding to any of her messages? Luckily Betty is a pretty understanding girlfriend so I hope for the best outcome as I turn the doorknob. I creep my way in to find pitch black besides the movie screen flashing before a sleeping Betty. She stayed up for me. Or at least tried to. My heart melts at the sight of her laying there peacefully. I walk towards her and give her a rub on the shoulder,

"Hey, Betty." I whisper. She slowly lifts her head up groggily. She rubs her eyes and sits up straight, still keeping a blanket covered over her.

"You want to try explaining to me why you skipped our date, Jug?" She raised an eyebrow.

Betty's Pov:
I was more than irritated but nonetheless, willing to hear what he had to say. And I did know Jughead usually had pretty good reasons for making drastic plans so suddenly.

"I'm so sorry I missed our date Betty. Some things went down at school and Brett threatened me with this stupid party saying that I had to go if I wanted to become one of them." He said tiredly, running his hands through his hair.
