The Lake Part 1

It had been a week since I'd seen Colby, I was giving him his guy time. I realized that I'd been kinda hogging him, his bestfriend missed him and so did mine. I tried not to think about the possibility of Colby moving away. We haven't actually had a conversation about it, but I overheard Sam mention something about an apartment in LA when we were FaceTiming. I would never want to hold Colby back, but at the same time we just got together, and with me being healthy now I don't want to lose him. Of course I could never say any of this cause I'd just sound controlling.

Ugh, why was everything always so complicated with me.

Anyways, today was Friday and Em thought it'd be a good idea for us to go to the lake. There's this really nice lake near our house that people go to hangout by, it's surrounded by a thick forest. I love it there, there's these big rocks we like to jump off, and the waters not too cold so we won't freeze. I thought about asking Colby to come, but Em wants to spend quality time together and we are meeting up with a few friends.

As I was packing a change of clothes Em bursts through my door.

"Taylorrrr are you done getting ready yet??"

"Yea I'm almost done, why the rush? It's like 10:30."

"Well the guys are here waiting in the car."

"What guys? I thought it was just us and some friends."

"Yea well Jack and Kurtis texted me and asked to tag along."

"Oh okay, man I haven't seen them since grad."

"Yea I know and they're waiting so HURRY UP!"

Emily grabs my bag and hand a starts rushing me downstairs and out the front door.

Kurtis is sitting in the drivers side and honks the horn. He pulls himself through the window

"Johnson! It's like I'm seeing a ghost."
"Wait shit, is that offensive cause of the whole cancer thing?"

I throw my bag in the bag and ruffle his hair.

"You could never offend me Kirby."

"You know I hate that nickname" Kurtis whines

"Exactly, and that's why I've kept calling you it since-."

"Pre-K" Kurtis finishes

Jack sits there looking at emily with an odd expression. Jacks kinda always had a thing for Emily. We were all great friends; me, emily, Jacob, Jack, and Kurtis. I guess I kinda pushed Jack and Kurtis away when everything happened. Jacob had cheated, I was sick again, and of course Colby. I just kinda forgot about them, damn I'm a bad friend.

Kurtis looks back at us and with a nod says

"Now you beautiful ladies better hold on cause you know when Kurtis drives, he drives fast."

I lean forward and say sarcastically

"Oh Kirby please don't kill us, I'm done with looking death in the face."

"Taylor, you know my car rides are like a roller coaster. Now everyone keep their hands inside your hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times, and enjoy the experience."

I jump out of the car and bend over.

"Kirby I am never driving with you again."

Emily goes next to me out of breathe

"Yea what the hell was that, I feel like I genuinely died of a panic attack in your car."

Jack hops out of the car too

"Kurtis how the fuck did you pass your test man?"

Kurtis gets out of the car

"When I drive, I drive frivolously."

I turn around and say

"Well remind me to never get in a car with you again."

Emily goes

"Me too."

Jack then says

"Me three."

All 4 of us grab our stuff out of the car, and head down the trail to the lake. I start to hear a lot of noise and see a bunch of people that went to highschool with us.

I turn to Emily

"Em, I thought it was just the 4 of us?"

"Yea about that... it's a party! We just thought since you got sick so quick after grad that you missed out on everything. Soooooo they guys and I thought we'd invite the grad class. Are you mad?"

"I'm not mad, just could have used a little warning. I mean if I had known I would have asked Colby and Sam to come."

"Why don't you just text them?"

"I don't have any service."

Jack turns and says

"There's a rock down by the beach that gets good service, I'll bring you over there."

I nod and the 2 of us start walking

Jack turns to me

"So is this Colby guy your boyfriend?"

"Yea he is."

"I'm happy for you Taylor."

"Thanks Jack."

"Is Emily seeing the Sam guy?"

"Nope, she is 100% single and ready to mingle."

"Duly noted."

"She likes you, you know please don't tell her I said that."

"I know she does, I'm just scared, I don't want to mess things up."

"You wouldn't, you're like the nicest guy ever Jack, and she totally likes you."

"Okay, I'll try and talk to her after this."

We get to the rock and I get 2 bars. I tell him where we are and for him and Sam to come have fun with all of us, he tells me theyll be here in an hour or so.

Lol sorry I haven't updated In a longggggggg time. I've been really busy with school:)
