The clock struck midnight in the Walter Manor, and Peter Walter was still wide awake struggling to think of a plan to make Spine more Human. He couldn’t concentrate because the clock was ticking too loudly, so he hit the clock on the fireplace with his slipper, and then sat on the edge of the bed.
He knew absolutely everything there is to know about making Robots, but making them human is a totally different thing. Peter couldn’t guarantee anything but he had a few ideas that could work, “if one of my ideas did work, Spine could become more of a human being, I want to make Spine happy, but I aint sure if I should play god.”
Peter thought he should go and speak to Spine first to see what he would think about his ideas. He wanted to wait until the morning to talk to Spine, but Peter had an urge to speak to him sooner.
So he put on his slippers, and crept down the stairs to the Hall of Wires, he slowly opened the door, trying not to wake anyone up, when the door was fully opened he noticed Spine was sitting on the floor looking into the mirror in the corner.
Peter slowly walked up to Spine and sat next to him. Spine slowly turned around said “Hello, couldn’t you sleep”?
Peter took a few moments to reply then said confidently “nah not really, but I’ve come to talk to you about some ideas I’ve got for…let’s say upgrades, which could change you completely”.
Spine just stared at him blankly and said “what sort of upgrade? The Walter workers only upgraded me 2 months ago”.
Peter then stood up and pointed to Spines notepad on the desk, Spine looked at Peter and Smiled. Peter then said “ I’ve been thinking of ways that I can make you look and make you feel more human if you like, the first I can try implanting some nerves into your arms so that you can feeling and senseses. Also I think I may be able to grow you a human body, but it’s going to take time, you can take as long as you need to make a decision Spine.”
He stood up and hugged Peter “you really would do that for me? I’ve always dreamed of be human, I understand if the procedures don’t work, but at least you’ve tried your best, the only thing im worried about is telling Hatchworth and Rabbit, But im sure they will sort of understand.”
Peter smiled at Spine and then fell asleep on the floor near Spines desk. Spine stood up and found a blanket to wrap around Peter, he then looked into the mirror one more time and said “Soon I will be human, thanks to Peter”.
The next morning, Peter was woken up by the sound of GG The Giraffe, , singing her "I love Steve song", some days Peter just wanted to deactivate GG and lock her in a cupboard, because she could be loud and annoying, just like the other robots.
He rubbed his eyes and looked around, after about a minute he realised he was lying on the floor of The Hall of Wires.
He slowley stood up and went to find GG, before she woken everyone in San Diego up with her singing!
