Humans are Selfish

I believe humans are selfish by nature. Even in groups, the reason a human partakes in society is to benefit itself. However, some people are removed from society, introverts. These people are either content with their lives or discontent. Those that are content have no desire to be part of society, because it holds no benefits that they see. Those that are discontent would be more content if they were "popular", or more involved in social occurrences. Generally, that is the only reason for their discontentedness. So why do people help other people then? Because it makes them feel good. Yes, sadly, the reason a human aids another is because it feels good to help someone. It feels good, and humans like feeling good. This is, of course, advantageous to humans as a species, as evolutionists would put it. From a religious aspect, of course aiding others would make you feel good, it can only be a reward for selfless action. Unfortunately, if aiding others did not make humans feel good, there would be much less aid between humans. The world would most likely be a much darker place. Why does a human do anything, if not for itself? Why do we work? To get money, to use for ourselves, or for others, in which case we feel good. Volunteer work makes us feel better, and it makes us look better to everyone else. I think children are good representatives for humans. If you ask a child why he or she plays with others, the answer will be "Because it's more fun that way.". Fun feels good, and as I said before, humans like feeling good. Now what is one thing no child learns on their own? What is one thing a mother is always scolding a child for? Sharing. I don't know how many times I've heard it, "Please share.", "Are you sharing?", and "Sharing is caring.". Children don't teach themselves to share because humans are inherently selfish.
