Chapter 24: Abandoned in the forest

Kevin's P.O.V

I was woken up to the sound of my girlfriend panicking.

"What, who's that? Where are we?" Heather asked.

I sat up confused about why she freaking, and then looked around noticed we were in the middle of nowhere.

"How did we get here?" Duncan asked.

"Chris?" Gwen asked.

"Mommy!" Owen said.

"Why are we in the middle  of nowhere again?" I asked annoyed rubbing my eyes.

EVERYBODY JUST SHUT UP! HOW YOU GOT HERE IS NOT YOUR CONCERN!" Chef yelled coming down from a helicopter.

"What happened to Chris?" Gwen asked.

"None of your gosh darn business what happened to Chris, I'm in charge now!" Chef yelled.

"Really?" I asked with a sigh.

"YES REALLY! And I'm gonna make you wish you were never born. Your mission is to find your way out of the forest or die trying," Chef told us.

"You can't be serious. We will die," Heather said.

/Kevin: These guys are crazy are they trying to kill us. Why can't they think of safer challenges?/

"Here's how it works. Team one: delinquent, ponytail, and chubby. Team two: Grim and grimmer. Everything you need is in these bags. You'll navigate your way north to base camp. The first team to tag the camp totem pole win," Chef said.

"Hey, that not fair they have three people against the two of us," Heather pointed out.

"There's no fair in survival. You get what you get. And here's a tip better set up camp before sundown because nightfall hits you won't even see your gambling handing in front of your face unless you have night vision goggles, but you don't," Chef laughed as I looked at Heather with concern hoping she wasn't getting too scared.

"Oh please, please don't leave us here I'm betting you we won't survive," Duncan begged.

"Grab a hold of yourself solder," Chef told Duncan.

"This is totally bonkers. We'll be scarf down by a grizzly," Owen said.

"Oh, I wouldn't worry about that. You wish you saw a grizzly once you meet up with old sasquatchanakwa. He's one mean mamajama," Chef said, getting on the helicopter."Good luck troops. Try not to die!"

Then our beds were taken away from us.

"Well this is going to be a pain," I said annoyed.

"This isn't legal! You can't do this!" Heather yelled.

"Hey peaches, file it with the network lawyer," Duncan said tossing grabbing Own and began running off.

I sighed a follow behind since there my team, but wish I didn't have to leave Heather behind.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"I just wanted to get away from the girls. Psych them out a little, you know?" Duncan stated.

"So what's in the pack?" I asked.

"Let's see," Duncan said and dumped everything out of the pack.

We had nog spray, binocular, a map, and a sleeping bag.

"Yep, yep. It's all good except one thing missing," Owen said.

I and Duncan both looked at Owen wondering what he was talking about.
