"It's really great to see you outside of the sports festival or combat training. We should hang out during our free time more often," Momo said to Kendo as she sat down.
"Agreed. So do you wanna talk about what's going on? I understand if you don't want to tell me." Kendo replied, taking a seat as well.
"Are you familiar with my friend Jirou?" Momo asked.
"I know who she is because of training and the sports festival, but no, I don't think I've ever spoken to her before," Kendo said with a shrug.
"Yeah, the thing is I kinda had a crush on her. She's dating Kaminari, who you probably also know from the sports festival. She had just rejected me when you came into the gym," Momo said, her expression fading from happy to chat with Kendo to sad at the reminder of the situation. "I was kind of a jerk to her; I told her she should break up with Kaminari to date me instead. I'm worried she doesn't want to be friends with me anymore."
"Oh, that sucks man. I kinda understand your problem, the reason I haven't had a crush on anyone at UA is because it seems as if all of the hot girls are straight or taken," Kendo said.
Momo's eyes widened at Kendo's response. "You like girls too??"
"Yeah, of course I do. It's great to hear that another girl in the hero course is a lesbian, I kind of assumed that I was the only one!" Kendo laughed. "You out to anyone besides me or Jirou?"
"A few friends who I know are also lgbt. I haven't come out to my family yet because I fear they would be unsupportive," Momo replied. "What about you?"
"For me it's the opposite. I'm out to my parents and they're pretty cool about it. I haven't come out to anyone at UA besides you just now because it's got such a diverse student body and you never know what sort of crazy beliefs people have," Kendo chuckled. "Hey, this is a weird question but would you be interested in going on a date sometime?"
Momo's face turned red. "You'd be interested in doing that?"
"Heck yeah! Before now you were on my list of girls who I found attractive but assumed were straight. Should we head back into the cafeteria? If you want, our first date can be here, right now," Kendo stood up.
"Y-yeah...sure," Momo responded, getting up as well. As the two of them walked back into the dance, Momo noticed that Jirou was standing by herself. "Hey, Jirou isn't with Kaminari right now so I think now's a good time to apologize to her. Mind if I go and chat with her for a sec?"
"Yeah of course. Take as much time as you need, I'll be waiting over here," Kendo replied.
Momo walked over to where Jirou was standing and began to initiate conversation.
"Hey Jirou! How are you doing? How's the dance been so far?"
Jirou's face went from neutral to frowning. "Have you come to take advantage of the fact that my boyfriend is in the bathroom right now? You're out of your mind if you think I want to spend time with you."
"Look Jirou, I know you're upset, and I understand why. I actually came over here to apologize for my behavior the other day."
Jirou stopped frowning and raised an eyebrow.
"It was really inappropriate for me to try to convince you to go out with me when you already had a boyfriend who you are happy with. I shouldn't have let my feelings get in the way of treating your relationship like it mattered. I'm really hoping we can still be friends Jirou. I really don't want my stupid crush to ruin the amazing friendship you and I have had since I came to UA," tears were starting to form in Momo's eyes. "Please can you find it in your heart to forgive me?"
