"Wakey, wakey! Your breakfast is almost ready and I don't want you to be late like yesterday!" My assistant, Ginger, practically yells in my ear.

I yawn for what feels like forever then finally decide to get up.

"What am I wearing today, Ginger?" I ask, with another yawn about to approach.

"You'll see after you have your bath. Now, do you want bubbles in your ba--"

"Ginger! I'm perfectly fine doing it myself! I'm 18 in 30 days. I'm not a child anymore." I say with a restless tone.

She nods and gets all my stuff ready.

I fill the bath up and put bubbles in the water.

"Princess Adelaide! You've been in there for 8 minutes and 31 seconds!"

Oops. I feel asleep in the bath.

"I'm commmmiiiiiing." I say with my eyes closed.

The reason why I'm so tired is because I stayed up last night, playing my iPad . Oopsies.

I make my way to Ginger and she explains what I'm going to be wearing today. "A beautiful yellow dress with white 3cm heels."

I approve (well, I have no choice anyway) and one of the other assistants (Georgie) comes and does my hair in two plaits. Georgie puts light makeup on my face.

"You better go now." Georgie waves to me and I thank her.

Georgie is a year older than me (19). I can even call her my bestfriend. Whether Ginger is 10 years older than me (29). They both are very amicable.

I go down some steps, then take the next left, then take the second right and I'm at the table.

"Good morning, Adelaide." My mother and father say in unison. "Morning." I reply, with no emotion at all.

"Griffin, Harrison! Stop that silly behaviour!" My mother yells. I chuckle.

Yes, they are my brothers. Griffin is my older brother and Harrison is my younger. Griffin is 20 and Harrison is 15. They cheer me up on my roughest days. They also annoy me, ALOT.

"Today's breakfast is raisin toast. Drinks are optional. We've got hot and cold chocolate, orange juice, apple juice and tea." The royal head chef, Marko introduces the yummy food which I feel like I'm going to eat in 5 seconds.

I excuse myself from the table and slowly walk back to my room.

"Boo!"

"Lleyton!"

Lleyton has been my friend for 9 years. He's been here ever since he was 9 because his family and my family are close. Well, were close. Lleyton's parents died and our family gave him and his little sister a h̸o̸m̸e̸ castle.

I'm pretty sure he likes me. Ever since we were 15, I think.

"I was trying to find you because you weren't at the table!" He says.

"Lleyton, I got excused." I chuckle.

"Right." He starts. "I was wondering if you'd like to play monopoly with me?"

"In my room? I don't feel like going anywhere else today besides the table."

"Pig." He calls me.

I softly slap him on the arm and we go to my room.

"I'm the car!" I yell, almost as if the whole castle can hear me.

*****

"Do you ever get sick of this castle? Do you ever just want to go outside and explore?"

Lleyton smiles at me and says "What are you thinking of doing, princess? Escaping?"

I look at him. "I have never thought of that. But, first of all, my parents would kill me and secondly, there's too many guards!"

Lleyton has a guilty look on his face.

"Your parents said I could leave the castle anytime I wanted to since I'm nearly 18."

{Oh yeah, did I mention his birthday is one day after mine?}

"Oh, that's great." I look shocked while talking.

"I can't."

"What's holding you back?"

"You. I don't want to leave you. You're my best friend."

I stare at him. I finally get snapped out of it by hearing a loud knock on the door.

It's my father.
