chapter four - king of the court

*Friday Morning*

beep...beep...beep...bee-

I slam the alarm button to turn off and put my head under my pillow. "Ugh I was having a good dream."

I got up and went to the mirror. My hair was messy as usual so I decided to brush it into two ponytails. I put on my f/c skirt and my uniform shirt then grabbed my bag and walked out the house checking my phone. No messages as always...

"y/n?"

I turn around and see a raven haired boy. "Kageyama?"

"Hey y/n, you live around here?"

"Oh yeah I do, right there." I said pointing at a small grey house.

"My house is right next to it, the dark blue house."

My face turned red. Kageyama lived next door to me...?

"Wanna walk to school together?" I smiled cheerfully.

He blushed, "S-Sure y/n."

On our walk to school we stopped to get some boba tea. When we arrived at that school I waved good bye to Kageyama and went into my class. "Hi Noya!" I yelled. I was surprisingly in a good mood today. "Hey beautiful!" He said as he jumped up. "Do you have practice today?"

"Yeah I do, wanna tag along?" He replied.

I nodded as I sat down in my seat.

ugh what a long day

I walked to the vending machine before I went to the gym. I was looking at my phone when I suddenly bumped into someone and fell. "Ow." I looked up and saw Kageyama with a milk carton in his hand. "y/n? I'm so sorry I didn't see you." I laughed, "No no it's okay, but you can totally repay me by getting me a milk." Kageyama nodded and was about to buy the milk but I stopped him and laughed. "No I was joking! I'll buy it myself... plus I was the one on my phone and didn't see you." He blushed and rubbed the back of his neck, "O-Oh okay."

After I got my milk, me and Kageyama walked to the gym.

"Hey guys!" I yelled as I placed my bag on the floor. They all turned my way and said hi. Hinata then came up to me and asked if I can set some balls for him and I agreed. After a while of practicing coach Ukai wanted the boys to play a scrimmage. It was Kageyama, Hinata, Asahi, Daichi, Tanaka, and Tsukishima versus Sugawara, Yamaguchi, Nishinoya, Ennoshita, Kinoshita, and Narita.

*During the game*

I notice Kageyama and Hinata exchange looks, Sugawara seemed to catch on and yelled, "THEY'RE GOING FOR THE QUICK!". Kageyama perfectly set the ball to Hinata and in a matter of seconds Hinata quickly spiked the ball to the other side. Everything happened so fast that nobody could comprehend what had happened or how. "YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!" I screamed. All the boys looked at me and smiled. Moments later Yachi walked up to me, "So are you really going to become an assistant manager? I would love to have you here." I looked at her and smiled, "Yes I think I will become the assistant manager."

"OKAY BOYS TAKE A BREAK!" Coach Ukai yelled.

Me , Yachi, and Kiyoko walked up to the boys that were drenched in sweat and handed them their water bottles.

"You guys are really good." I exclaimed.

"Thanks y/n. You should play a scrimmage with us sometime." Noya said.

"Of course but I'm playing to win." I smirk.

They all grinned.

*After the game*

"EVERYONE CLEAN UP THE GYM! IT'S TIME TO GO!" Daichi yelled. Everyone nodded and started putting the balls and net away. I walked to my bag when someone tapped my shoulder. I turned around and saw Suga smiling. "Hey y/n. How are you feeling?" I smiled, "I'm feeling really good." He continued smiling when Daichi called him, "Suga I need your help with something". Suga then ran to Daichi and I continued to get my bag. After I got my bag and changed my shoes I started to walk out the gym when Kageyama stopped me.

"Y/n are you available tomorrow?" I looked at him tilting my head in confusion.

"I think so, why do you ask?"

"U-Um would you like to hang out with me?"

I suddenly felt very nervous but I smiled and nodded. I gave him my number when I seen Suga looking at us. He didn't say anything but instead he walked away.

Is he mad at me?
