"Come closer, little Adamai," called a painfully familiar voice. Fuzzy images, sounds...memories. "Come," the voice beckoned again, "and let me tell you a tale of our people."

"Long, long ago, when the Krosmoz were still young and this planet likely did not exist, there were the Eliatropes. They were a peaceful people who thrived in their world with their brothers, the Dragons.

"Then one fateful day, our calm planet was invaded by the Mechasms: enormous machines with unspeakable strength and wit. As ages passed, the two peoples lived in harmony.

"Then, the Mechasms declared war.

"There was much terror and bloodshed, more than you could ever imagine. Our brothers and sisters fought valiantly, but even immortals cannot destroy the infinite power of those horrible machines. Our people were forced to surrender their beloved planet and escaped into the cold, dark space of the Krosmoz.

"Much Wakfu was needed to travel to a habitable world, so the journey was miserable and exhausting. Our people were afraid they would never find a new home, and decided they needed a scout. The Eliatrope Qilby proposed a plan. He revealed that the source of his ship's power was the Eliacube, which contained immense amounts of Wakfu. And so the Eliatropes forged a device from the Eliacube that could fold time and space: the EliaLocket. However, the EliaLocket was so powerful that when anyone touched it, it would overwhelm them and burn them severely. Only one could wield it:

"The Blessed.

"He was found alone, close to dead on his desolate planet. Our people saved him, unaware of what he would turn out to be. Though he was mortal, he possessed the perfect balance of Wakfu to access the EliaLocket's powers. With his help, the Eliatropes and Dragons found the World of Twelve and created a new colony.

"The EliaLocket was passed down through generations of mortals. The last known Blessed was killed when the Mechasms returned for vengeance. She could not return from the dead like we can. The EliaLocket vanished when she did. Thus, the EliaLocket and its powers were lost.

"...but I have heard whispers...distant voices of our brothers past. They tell me that the EliaLocket is located on a distant planet, called by its inhabitants, 'Earth'.

"They say that a new Blessed will emerge...."

"Grougaloragran..." murmured Adamai in his sleep.  A little black dragon poked his head up at the sound of his name. He pounced on the sleeping blue-and-white dragon and gave a playful growl. Adamai gasped as the wind was knocked out of him. "Grougal!  Don't do that!" Grougaloragran looked up at him with big sad eyes, and Adamai felt guilty for hurting the black dragon's feelings. "Go to sleep, Grougal. We can play in the morning."

Grougaloragran gave Adamai a look of contempt, then snuggled back into his blankets. Adamai watched him fall asleep. It was weird, having the aged Grougaloragran he loved like a father reincarnated into this playful toddler. He liked having a younger dragon to play with, but often times he missed the deep comforting voice of the dragon who took care of him for the first part of his life.

Adamai recalled his dream, the story of the EliaLocket and The Blessed. He must have been as young as baby Grougal then, so how did he remember the story in such detail?

Adamai settled down to go back to sleep, wondering if that dream could have meant anything...
