Every night i feel this looming presence over me, as if I am being watched in my own room but I'm too scared to even open my eyes. I can hear the door of my bedroom open and close, but i don't hear anyone come in.

It's always a restless night.

It's the middle of the fall, and the leaves have just started to turn different colors and everything is a golden shade of brown. The light from my window, let's me know that it is morning and all the monsters of the night have finally disappeared. It's finally safe to open my eyes again.

After getting ready for school, I looked over towards my parents bedroom which was right across the hall from mine. It's been over 2 years since my mom passed away, and I can't help but think of her everyday. It came around this time in November, six years ago she got really sick and  it began to take her away day by day. I lost the image of who my mother was and by this time again the following year she was gone.

My dad sold our house, and moved us out to the bustling city of Osaka, Japan. Into a small apartment building on the fifth floor, facing inward towards the other apartment buildings around us. A kind of run down location, but it was the best we could afford after my father lost his job.

That's where the monster came...

School went by fairly fast, of course all first days go like that. All the teachers do is introduce themselves to the classroom and hand out sheets for parents and students to fill out. I took a deep breath and looked out the window beside me, the only thing keeping me sane was watching the leaves change color.

How poetic of me.

I don't have many friends at school, i guess you could say it's my fault for not being very sociable but it's hard to put on a smile on my face everyday and act as if everything is fine.

As i'm looking out the window i spot someone standing by the school entrance, it's too far away for me to make out any notable features only that it appears to be a young man. I feel our eyes lock but he quickly looks away, after a moment i look back into the classroom.

I glance at the window to see if the man is still out there, and there was a quick flash coming from the direction where he stood.

I quickly look away, putting my head on the desk and covering my face with my arms. There's no way that was the flash of a camera.

He couldn't have followed me here..

Lately it feels like everywhere i go, i can feel someone following me. I hear camera shutters, and see random flashes when i'm inside of places. It could all be in my imagination, but my gut tells me i have a stalker following me.

Maybe it's an intentional thing, like my dad doesn't trust i won't go to the police so he hired someone to follow me. Though that wouldn't be any better, than having some random stalker.

My last class of the day finally ended, as the sound of the bell ringing echoed around the halls and into the classrooms. I got up from my desk, putting my books away into my book bag.

"H-Hello" a voice said from in front of me, i raised my head to see a very pretty girl in front of me. I recognized her as i had seen her the school year prior, though i don't remember having a class with her. It's like me to not pay attention to other people's faces, or even remember names.

"I was wondering if you would like to sign this petition, for our student body" she said putting out a pen and clipboard in front of me. I looked at the pen and clipboard and smiled, it couldn't hurt to sign. "Just fill out your name, cellphone number if you have one and address" she explained as i took the pen and clipboard away from her and began to write down the information she asked for. "Thank you so much" she said with a lovely smile, as i handed her the pen and clipboard back.

"My name is Mai Suzuki, but my friends call me Susie for short" she said as she walked away and waved at me. I slowly raised my hand to wave back but i was kind of shy.

Maybe i made a friend today.

I slung my backpack over my shoulder and continued to walk out of the school and towards my house. I made sure to look at the gates to see if i could see the person, that i had seen while i was in class but no one was there, there were officers standing outside the gate writing things into their notepads and speaking amongst each other.

Could they be here because of him?

Walking home was a fairly long route, so sometimes i have to take the train depending on how long i want to take getting home.

Most days i want to take a long time...

A lot of students take the train home, so it's a mass of students all walking towards the train. There's always different groups of students, walking together but i'm always by myself.

I heard it this time, the sound of the camera shutter. My eyes widened as i started to frantically look around for the source of the sound. I couldn't really see anything, just the mass of students walking start to integrate with other adults from the streets.

Maybe it was in my head.

I arrived to the station, and got onto the train leading towards my home. It was fairly crowded because of all the students getting out class and adults on their lunch breaks from work. I decided to stand by the door of the train, holding on to one of the grab handles on the train.

I closed my eyes for a moment and listened to the music playing in my headphones. It wasn't anything crazy, i didn't have any real music taste so i listen to the radio station most of the time. I do have a couple of songs i like.

I felt something brush up against my leg, it lingered there for a moment. I didn't react, the train was crowded so it could have been an accident. The feeling came back and this time it was almost running a hand up and down my leg, i quickly turned around and the feeling stopped. There were two large men standing behind me, they looked like they had come from a business meeting dressed extremely professional in suits. Surely someone like this, isn't doing it. I have been on edge lately so maybe it was in my imagination.

It was not my imagination, as soon as i turned back around the feeling started again, and this time it fully groped me. I quickly turned around and kicked the man directly behind me, i knew it was him too because his hand was stretched out when i turned around. I guess he didn't expect that.

"Leave me alone! Creep!" i yelled at him. The train became silent and eyes peered around to see what was happening, the man that was beside him didn't look though, i assume he knew what was happening but let it happen.

Why can't I be this strong at home?

"Are you alright?" a voice came from beside me, i looked towards the sound of the voice as a man approached me. I had never seen anyone like this before, he was so beautiful almost familiar to me. Dark shaggy black hair, that was mostly covered by his hoodie. Dark piercing black eyes that almost had a hint of purple in them, he had such a slender build and was tall considering myself. I took a deep breath, as i snapped out of my mesmerization for his looks. Something about him seemed so familiar and almost welcoming, his eyes were filled with genuine concern something i hadn't seen beside in my mothers eyes..

No one cares about me so why does a stranger?

"U-Uh thank you, i'm fine" I stuttered bowing my head. The train came to a stop, I stepped out not looking back to the man on the train who captured me by surprise.

Walking home was a nice time, looking at the other apartments and houses imagining that I lived in any of them but my own. I know im just delaying the inevitable, but i don't want to go home just yet.
