"luke? What are you doing here?" Stella asked as she swung open her front door to be greeted with a puffy eyed luke Patterson, it was obvious he'd been crying, most likely another fight with his mom, she wasn't supportive of sunset curve, stella understood that she just wanted the best for her son but Stella would never tell Luke that.
"I didn't know where else to go." He sniffled as he held a large gym bag containing what she assumed was his clothes.
"Get in here, it's freezing out there." She said as she pulled him inside quickly, stepping into the kitchen to pull down another mug to make him her famous cocoa.
"What happened?" She asked as she pulled him into a tight hug, like turning to bury his face in her neck in comfort.
"Another fight, much worse than all the others, I couldn't stay there anymore." He explained through tears as Stella pulled away to wipe his tears away softly.
"You can stay as long as you need." She said as she knew her parents wouldn't mind, there was hardly ever a time when they were home anyways.
"Really? I don't want to be a bother." He said as she poured the hot water into two mugs, the cocoa steaming as she added a few marshmallows and chocolate chips, it was her comfort drink and she knew it always made him feel better.
"It gets lonely sometimes, I'm glad you're here." She said as she placed the mug down in front of him.
"I don't know what I'd do without you." He said as he leaned closer to her.
"Well lucky for you, you'll never have to find out, I'm not going anywhere Patterson." She smiled as she placed a soft kiss to his lips
