Marie's POV
Leah's voice pulled me out of my thoughts again.
"Marie? You're doing it again," she sang out. I shake my head, laughing as I'm pulled out of my melancholy thoughts and back into the sunlight of the present.
"Sorry." Both Leah and Kagome rolled their eyes. Leah facepalmed.
"I swear I'll make you quit worrying for ten minutes if it's the last thing I do!" With this, she let out a shriek before jumping me, tickling me mercilessly.
"N no! S stop it!" I tried to speak through my laughter. Leah was laughing too. She always laughed when one of her friends was laughing.
She finally stops and I lay on the grass, trying to regain my breath. I stare up at the sky, feeling pretty happy. Leah leans over me and pokes my forehead.
"Did you break her?" Kagome sounds a bit concerned.
"I mean ... given the fact that that was probably the most she's laughed in weeks ... she might have malfunctioned." Leah pokes me again and I smack her hand away playfully.
"Shut up!" I roll my eyes, sitting up and picking a leaf out of my hair. Kagome laughs a little, looking at my hair.
It's gotten messy from me moving around so much while trying to get away from Leah's tickle attack from earlier. I run my fingers through it, smoothing it as much as possible. I jokingly glare a little at Leah who just gives me an innocent smile in return. All of a sudden, a ball comes flying toward us.
"Watch out!" I catch the ball and turn to see who had spoken. Tristan was running toward me. "I am so sorry!"
"It's ok." I smile, handing him the ball. His hazel eyes widen when he hears my voice and he looks up.
"La I mean lucky catch I mean nice catch," he stammers out.
"Thanks," I say, placing a hand on my hip. "Guess I'm pretty lucky." I smile a little on the inside at my own joke. He laughs a little.
"I'm Tristan," he says, holding out his free hand, placing the ball under his other arm.
"Marie," I say simply, shaking his hand. "Nice to meet you Tristan. These are my friends, Leah and Kagome." I gesture toward the two as I speak. Leah waves and Kagome smiles kindly.
"Nice to meet you both. And again I'm sorry for almost hitting you." He looks down sheepishly.
"It's cool." Leah grins.
"No harm done," Kagome adds. Tristan is about to say something else when we hear another voice.
"Hey Tris where'd you go?" Tristan turns in the direction of the voice.
"Over here!"
Another boy comes toward us. He has messy ash blonde hair with a red streak in it and dark brown eyes.
"Sorry Damian," Tristan says as the guy approaches. "Had to get the ball." The guy, now known as Damian, laughs.
"You're fine. As long as that ball didn't cause any damage to these pretty faces." He smirks at us and Tristan rolls his eyes.
"Bro." Leah cringes.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Damian." He smiles, looking back and forth between the three of us. I decide to be nice, even if this guy came on a little too strong.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Marie and these are my friends, Kagome and Leah." I give him a smile as his eyes land on mine.
"I feel honored to learn the names of such angels." I inwardly facepalm. Leah actually does facepalm.
