2 – How
*rustle rustle*
Maki led us to her Parents' Cabin. It was huge. And it had a lot of windows, and it also looked modern. For a cabin, it wasn't so bad. I mean, it was even better than my own house. I could see the furniture inside, and it looked cozy in there. I would live there even though, there wouldn't be any electricity, since it looked nice and comfy. But I guess I got lucky. If I didn't get dragged by Maki and Blake, I would've been a 'zombie' by now. I don't even know how all of this started. All I know is that these creatures—Whatever they were, just appeared out of nowhere. One second, it was alright, and I was just about to leave the café, then the other, once I stepped outside, the scenery suddenly changed. It's weird how such a small thing could make a big difference.
So we step into Maki's Cabin, and there were a bunch of other kids in there. I'll just assume they were Maki and Blake's friends, but I can't be too sure. I mean, I've seen a few of these kids in town before, I THINK. But I also can't be too sure, since I barely know anything about them. There were 2 girls and 3 boys. The other girl looked younger than us, probably about 11-12, something like that. The younger girl came up to me, looking excited, but her eyes were kind of red..? I guess. Maybe she cried. I don't know. But for now, she was super happy.
Annie: H-Hi! My name is Annie!
All of us had dark hair, except for Annie, who had cream-colored hair, and she also had Grey Eyes, which was super rare in our place, since we live in a country where most of us had dark hair, and light to fair skin, but that doesn't bother me.
Claire: Oh, hello! Annie is it? Hmm, my name is Claire, nice to meet you!
Maki then flung her shoes out to the welcome mat, and casually slumped on the couch.
Maki: You guys, I literally can't even process what's happening out here, but all we can do for now is watch news, and see if there are any further evacuation plans.
Blake: Cooooool~ yeah, and if Maki never saved us, we would've been in The Walking Dead by nowww.. Yeaaahh..
The other 3 boys were on their phones, probably playing games, since there's nothing left to do. I mean--Well, there is, and it's taking a tour of this massive luxury cabin.
Claire: Oh yeah, Maki can you take me on a tour inside this cabin? It seems so cooool!
Maki: Kay, sure! Hold on a sec, let me grab my phone-
After that, Maki led me to the hallway. It wasn't so bad, and the walls were clean white, the floor was high-class wood. There wasn't that much furniture nor pictures in the hallway. It was quite minimalistic, if I were to say. Unlike my messy disorganized middle-class house, with a lot of random knick-knacks on the walls, and unused Christmas décor being displayed when it's summer.
Maki: Alright. This is where you guys are gonna sleep. The sleeping quarters.
Maki opened the door to reveal a clean and comfy double decker bed storage. There was a wide window which let you see the beautiful trees, and a balcony.
Claire: Woooahhh.. Spacious!
Maki: Yup! And you could also get some snacks in the pantry which is right inside.
The aroma of the bedsheets, and the scent of fresh Pine, it filled the air. The orange light was making the place seem even more cozy. I guess this is better than having to stay at my home.
Claire: WOW! I love the smell.. I could sniff this room all day..
Maki: Alright. I'll be preparing the chicken nuggets at the kitchen if you need me!
