"I know this address. But... I don't think that you really want to go there"
I looked at Harry who just said this as if there happened a crime.
"Please. I have to know!", I pleaded again. He looked at me and sighed. I gave him a pleading look.
"Okay", he finally said "I'll bring you there tomorrow. Well meet here tomorrow at 9am." I thanked him, the other man and Tom and went upstairs to my room.
I did my night routine and went to bed.

The next morning, I woke up very early, packed my things and went downstairs to the bar. Tom's grandma was already sitting there. She stared at me. I ignored her stare and waited impatiently for Harry to arrive. After ten minutes he came. "Wow. Since when are you waiting?", he asked laughing.
"Oh, ten minutes", I said.
"Then let's go!", he said.
We went out of the bar. Just as we were passing the doorstep, I heard Tom's grandma mumbling.
"Creatures of hell don't belong to this bar", she said.
What did she mean with that? I guess she isn't an old, funny woman. She's crazy.
I shook my head and followed Harry.

After a few minutes we reached an abandoned house. It looked like there was a fire many years ago.
"Wha... what happened here?", I stuttered.
"A fire", Harry said "It was a tragedy. It's a wonder that the walls are still solid. The house burned complete out. We are not sure if the owner died in that night. There were no bodies found. Well... we never saw him again. It was fifteen years ago."
"Fifteen?", I asked, not believing what he said.
"Yes. Fifteen"
"I was five. Then he was... twenty-three?"
"Oh... I never saw a twenty-three-years-old boy around the house. Just a strange man. He was single and very, very strange."
"Strange? In what way?", I wanted to know. Maybe it was my father.
"Well... he was interested in the hybrid legends like nobody else. He was interested in every story about Dark Forest. He wanted to know every detail. But like I said, he was gone after the fire. Not even as the train crash ten years ago happened, I saw him again. This was something he surely wanted to know", Harry told me.
"Okay. I think this could help me a little bit. One last question..."
"Yeah?"
"Can I go in there?"
"At your own risk."
I thanked him and he went away.
Okay let's go inside.

When I stepped inside the house, I could smell the smell of burned wood. The floor was cracking under my feet. I was scared, but I had to go on and find something. I stepped inside a huge living room. The furniture was broken and burned.
Wait! How can furniture break like this in a fire? This looks more like there was a fight.
I was looking closely at a broken table when I found something. It was a brown piece of fur. Under this piece of fur was a picture. There was a house in the middle of the forest in this picture. Then I noticed that the picture was ripped out of something else. I couldn't find something else like this.
This picture doesn't belong here, and the fur isn't even burned. What happened here?
Suddenly, I heard a loud crack. It felt like someone was watching me. Shivers ran down my spine, like I didn't belong there. I had to get out of there.
I took the picture and the fur and ran out.

Back at the hostel I just saw Tom's grandma. She again stared at me. "Hello", I greeted her. Suddenly, she looked angry and stood up from her chair. "You dare to talk to me?", she angrily asked.
"I'm sorry. I didn't- "
"Shut up!", she cut me off "someone like you doesn't belong here. You dare to come here? After your kind caused so many deaths. Go back to your little friends in your forest." she was screaming at me so loudly that I got scared and backed away. I stumbled and fell on the floor.
Before she could scream something again, Tom ran out a small room.
"Grandma! What are you doing? You are scaring her. Don't scare the guests!", he told her, and she went back to her chair.
"Oh my god. I'm so sorry", he said to me "sometimes she is a little bewildered..."
"It... It is okay", I stuttered still startled "I wanted to leave anyway. I found something and I will go after this hint."
He picked up the picture which fell from my pocket. "Are you going to go there?", he asked. I nodded.
"Okay... you should keep on the trail which leads in the forest. After a while this trail parts. Don't follow the paths from then. Go straight into the forest. You'll find it after a while. But be careful! No one who has gone there came back."
I just nodded.

After I packed all my belongings, I put the piece of fur in my pants pocket and went down to the bar to thank Tom and pay him for the room.
Then I continued my journey.
The next part of my journey begins. Who knows how many parts will be there?

If I only would have known, that this will be the last part of my searching but the beginning of something way bigger...

I did as Tom said. The trail was very long. It took me until afternoon to find the place were the trail parted into two paths. Now it was time to go without a path. Sure, it was dangerous, but the house in the picture seemed to exist. I didn't know what waited for me. Maybe everything I wanted. Maybe death.
Maybe you'll find a witch house consisting of sugar.
I had to laugh at this thought. Mom used to tell me this fairy tale when I was small. Even back then I didn't belief in witches, vampires or werewolves.

After some time, the sun began to set. I had to hurry.
Just go straightforward, Rose. Just go straightforward.
Shivers ran down my spine. It began do be cold.
Soon it was dark, and I didn't reach my destination yet.
"Shit!", I cursed.

Suddenly, I heard a crack. It came from behind me. I turned around. Nothing. Then again, a crack. Again, I turned around. Again, nothing.
Oh no. These cracks... this wasn't me. Pull yourself together! There is nothing. Maybe it was a rabbit. What would be there? A werewolf? Yeah... I am spending too much time with Sophie.
"Okay... just go further, Rose", I whispered to myself. I went further. My steps became a little bit faster.
Suddenly there was a growl. It was behind me again. I turned around.
"Who is there?", I screamed "Stop this shit! I'm not afraid of you!"
No answer.
"If this is a trick, you'll regret it. I already said, I don't belief in your fucking legends!"
Again, no answer. I looked in the deep dark forest. There were more cracks. They became louder. Someone was coming near me. But then...

I saw something, that let my eyes widen. An anthracite gray wolf was standing in front of me.
"Oh no..." I whispered, "there are wolves in this forest?"
Don't move. Maybe he will go away, if he sees that I'm not attacking him.
Why was I even thinking this? The next second he attacked me. I started to run. I didn't know what to do. I was deep in the forest, so no one would hear me screaming. Suddenly, I tripped.
Oh yeah... this is so typical for a horror movie. Rose, you are dumb!
"Help!", I screamed. Of course, I knew that no one would help me. No one could hear me. My knee was bleeding. I knew that my journey had come to an end now. Slowly I stood up. I wanted to die like a strong woman, not like a coward lying on the floor.
The wolf jumped on me. I closed my eyes.

But the wolf never reached me. I heard more cracks. A growl. A loud thud.
I slowly opened my eyes. My eyes widened when I saw another, much bigger, light brown wolf attacking the one that attacked me.
What is going on here?
The big wolf bit the smaller one a few times. Then he let go of him and the anthracite wolf ran away.
Now the big wolf looked at me. I stepped backwards.
"Please, don't hurt me", I pleaded. As if the wolf could understand me.
I heard howling far away from us. Over and over again I took a step back.
Then I tripped again. I fell. I hit my head. Everything went black. Until I lost complete consciousness, I could hear the wolf in front of me howling.

"I need help!"
