Chapter 3: Garden Decoration

Andrea's POV:
Once we arrived to the Hall of Mirrors, we went through the mirror and arrived to Ace and Deuce's dorm; Heartslabyul.

I look at the place in awe. "So this is what this dorm looks like." I said. This definitely suits the Queen of Hearts. I know the guys back home would have definitely like it here. Then, I remember the ghost camera Crowley gave to me yesterday and took it out from my Hazbin Hotel mini backpack. I look at Ace and Deuce, who are both standing in front of the building. "Hey guys!" I pointed my ghost camera at them, looking through the small window to see if they're in the frame as Ace and Deuce turned around. "Smile!"

*Click!*

The photo came out from the top and I took it out. The photo went black for a moment before fading away, Ace had a confused look while Deuce gave a small smile in the photo. "I look so dumb in that photo." Ace said beside me as I giggled. "Dumb or not, you guys look really good in it." I said as I put the photo and ghost camera in my mini backpack. "Howoah! This is gorgeous! It couldn't be more different from ours!" Grim said in awe after he jumped into my arms. "Ours is still in development, Grim." I said.

We walked by a hedge maze garden entrance and we saw a guy with orange hair, the top portion tied back into a ponytail while the rest hangs straight, green eyes and under his right eye, is a small red patch shaped like a diamond.

He painting the white roses with red paint. "Crap, crap. I've gotta get these roses painted." He said in a panic as he continues painting. "Oh, somebody's here." Grim said and we approach him. "Oh, watch out. Any paint splatters and my head is gone." He said as he climbs down from the ladder, my eyes widen at what he said and remembered the song the card soldiers sang in my dream and from the movie. "Deja vu city." I said to myself.

"...Hm? Do you all need something?" He asked when he saw us. "What are you doing with that?" Ace asked, pointing at the paint brush and the red pain bucket. "This? As you can see, I'm painting the roses red." He explains, "Eh? Why would you?" Ace and Deuce looked so confused. "Hmm, your fresh reaction is so cute! Now that I take a good look at you, you're the freshmen that busted the 10,000,000-mil chandelier yesterday." He said, I sweat dropped, he just has to remind us of what happened yesterday.

"We're gonna hear about the chandelier until the day we graduate..." Ace sighs as he shook his head. "And you're the one who added on more punishment by stealing the dorm leader's tart last night!" The orange haired guy said, "I feel so lucky getting to meet the notorious newcomers first thing in the morning." He said happily as he took out his phone from his pocket. "Hey, hey, hey let's take a selfie! Yaaay!" He wrap his arm around my shoulder with Ace and Deuce behind us and Grim in my arms.

"Can I put this on Magicam? Tell me your names so I can put you in the tags." He asked. "I'm Deuce Spade." "Ace." "Grim, and my hench-mhphh?!" I covered Grim's mouth and quickly said, "Andrea Williams, or Andie for short." "Alright, upload done~!" He put his phone away and said, "Oh, I'm Cater Diamond, a 3rd year. That makes me your senpai~ Call me Cater-kun, okay? Cate's fine, too~ Heya, heya~""He sure is carefree." I thought, "Well, it's nice to meet you." But then Cater went quiet when he looked at me, "Why is he looking at me like that?" I thought, feeling a bit creeped out.

"Wait, what's your name again?" Cater asked, "Uhh... it's Andrea Williams, or Andie for short. I know it sounds like a boy's name, but that's just how my nickname is." I said, he smiled and cheerfully said, "Whoa! You're Andie Williams! The rumored first female student! I'm really lucky to meet you in person and you look really pretty up close!" "Uhh.. thanks?" I said awkwardly, "Whoa... you're getting really popular, Andie-san." Deuce said, "Yeah, I guess everyone is really lucky to have a girl as a student here." Ace said.

"And you're the new prefect for Ramshackle Dorm, right?" I nodded, "I'm surprised you can live in a place like that~! It's so dark, and I feel like something's gonna pop out~ I feel for ya~" I sweatdrop at his answer, "This guy's being pretty rude." Grim complained, "Oh, I shouldn't be standing here and talking!" Cater shouted, looked like he just remembered something.

"The party's the day after tomorrow. It's off with my head if I'm late." He said as he walked back to the rose trees, he turns back to us and asked nicely, "Hey, hey, freshies~ Can you help me with painting the flowers?" "Why're you doing somethin' so strange?" Ace asked curiously, "I mean, won't it be more photogenic if the roses were red for the party~? I'm really busy because I'm also in charge of coloring the flamingos for the croquet match~" Cater explained.

"Dyeing the flamingos?! That's a pretty weird job." Grim said, looking completely baffled. "So, the tarts that Ace ate were to be used for the Prefect's birthday party? I see now. So that's why he was so mad..." Deuce said, "What? That's not it." Cater said, making Ace, Deuce and Grim confused. "It ain't?! Then whose birthday is-wait a minute," Ace turned to me and asked, "Supervisor, you said something about "an Unbirthday party" last night, right?" "I did. An Unbirthday party is when you celebrate no one's birthday. Basically, you celebrate any or all of 364 days in which it's not someone's birthday." I explained, "Man, I'm starting to sound like the Mad Hatter and the March Hare right now."

"What Andie-chan said is true! Like she said, it's no one's birthday. The day after tomorrow is our Dorm's legendary Unbirthday Party. It's a tea party that the Prefect felt like doing, so he chose a day that doesn't fall on anyone's birthday." "The hell's that!?" "For the love of God, Ace. I know it sounds weird dude, but you gotta get used to it! Get with the program man!" I scolded him.

"Andie-chan's right! The reasons can wait! You just have to help me paint the roses! Deuce-chan and Grim-chan can use magic, right? Ace-chan and Andie-chan can't use magic, so here's a paintbrush~" Cater handed me and Ace paintbrushes and buckets of red paint. "We can change the colors with magic?" Deuce said as I put my backpack aside, so it doesn't get any paint on it. "I haven't done anything like that before, yanno." Grim said, "It's okay, relax~! We'll manage! We better hurry before the Prefect punishes us~" I grabbed the paintbrush and the bucket, and we all went to start painting the roses red.
