CHAPTER 2

Sidharth called his mom who stays in the same building and asked her to come home.. She came in the next 10 minutes and Sidharth was ready with his special 3 cups of tea.. Mom rang the bell and Shehnaaz opened the door..

Mom saw the serious expressions on Shehnaaz’s face and not the usual happy face..

“Kuch hua hai kya bache? Na Hi na Namaste.. Aaj tu thik nai lag rahi hai..” said Mommy Shukla as Shehnaaz didn’t utter a word as she opened the door.

“Andar aaiye Maa.. Hum dono sab batate hai..” said Shehnaaz holding Mom’s hand pulling her inside towards the couch.. Sidharth came to the drawing room as he heard Mom’s voice..

“Tum dono please jaldi bolo.. Shehnaaz kuch bol hi nai rahi hai.. Sidharth, bache, Bol na kya hua hai..” said Mom as Sidharth handed her a cup of tea..

“Batata hu.. don’t worry.. Itna serious nai hai.. aap relax karo..”

“Ha Maa.. Serious nai hai.. Bas Sidharth ko wapas Us Bigg Boss keg har me jana hoga.. 15 se 20 din ke liye.. Bas.. Aur kuch serious nai hai..” blurted out Shehnaaz..

Sidharth was in a confused state.. One minute Shehnaaz was accepting the fact that He should go.. Another minute She was not happy..

“Ek second.. Aise nai.. Shehnaaz, bache tu shant reh.. Sidharth, tell me in detail what is happening..” said Mom..

Sidharth told her everything.. Mom agreed with Kaushal.. Both mom and sidharth knew what they had to do.. They knew they will have to pacify Shehnaaz a little.. And make her understand..

“Acha.. Shehnaaz.. Bache.. Kaam hai na..”

“Ha Maa.. mujhe psamjh aa raha hai.. Bas thoda hurt ho raha hai.. Ye akele reh paega usko lag raha hai.. ye samjh nai raha hai.. Hina ajeeb hai.. Gauhar ne iske baare me itna kuch boli hai.. Ek sath.. Iska gussa Maa.. Mai shant karti thi.. Mai reh lungi.. Uska problem nai hai.. Mai samjhti hu.. Lekin mai pareshan iske liye hi hu..” Said Shehnaaz..

Mom was proud of her and so was Sidharth.. He had helped Shehnaaz turn mature in the lockdown period.. They both were in love and absolutely happy together..

“Tum dono thoda time sath raho.. Mai sham me aati hu.. Go out for lunch or something..” suggested Mom.. She heard Shehnaaz’s point.. “I don’t want to interfere between you both.. this is a work decision and I understand Kaushal’s point too.. I am just telling you one thing Sidharth.. If you decide to go then talk to me once, after signing the contract..”

“Sure Mom.. I will come and talk to you once I make a decision.. I Love you Mom..” said sidharth as he hugged her.. Mom hugged Shehnaaz too, “Bache, tu teri jagah sahi hai.. Dono baat karo aapas me.. Mai hu na tere sath.. Agar Sidharth jayega to Mai, Preeti, Neetu tere sath hi hai..” said Mom before leaving.. Pumping both of them, motivating both of them and giving them time to discuss with each other..

Once Mom left, Sidharth held Shehnaaz in his arms, hugging her tight..

“I am so proud of You Shehnaaz.. Tu mere bare me itna soch rahi hai.. I am so happy..” He said not leaving her at all.. She rubbed his back as she heard him praise her and he finally let go of her..

He cupped her face and kissed her forehead.. “Chal ready ho ja.. Thoda mind fresh kar ke aate hai..” said Sidharth to which she agreed and they both got ready.. He drove around his favorite restaurant in the city and went in..

“Dekh Sidharth, Tujhe bho dhyan rakhna padega.. Bht zyada control karna hai.. Samjh raha hai na..”

“Ha Shehnaaz.. relax kar.. Mai bacha nai hu..”

“Tera Sir.. Sabse bada bacha tu hi hai..”

“Ha chal ab natak mat kar zyada..” He said and ordered lunch..

They were in a different mind sets.. both were trying to be strong for each other.. Both were smiling, both were showing as if everything was absolutely normal.. Even when it wasn’t..

“Sidharth!” sadi Shehnaaz..

“Haa Shehnaaz bol na..”

“Tujhe pata hai na ye log promo kaise dikhate hai.. Tu please bhadakna nai zyada.. Tu contestant ni hai is baar.. Samjh raha hai na Bebu..”

“Ha Baby, I know.. Don’t worry about it.. I will keep myself calm and entertained..”

They went home, signed the papers and left for Mom’s house as promised.. Shehnaaz had nothing to do that day so she accompanied too..

“Maa, I signed the papers… Now tell me, what do you want to say..” said sidharth.. Shehnaaz was quietly observing the moment not wanting to intervene between a son and his mom.. Though Mommy Shukla treats her as her own daughter, this issue was a little serious so she was seated in a corner silently..

“Sidharth, I want you to be presentable in the show.. You will be independent, do all your work on your own, dress up everyday and look good.. You will control your anger, promise me that..”

Sidharth chuckled.. “Arey Maa, Bas itna hi.. I will do all my work I promise and I will control my anger..”

Shehnaaz felt something and she couldn’t control herself from saying, “Tu pure kapde pehnega.. Koi shorts nai daalega raat me.. kyu ke tu nahata lunch ke pehle hai.. Tb tak teri aadhi taange dikhti rahegi.. Please Sidharth..”

Mom and Sidharth laughed at her antic request and he agreed to that also..

“Baby, tu hi mere bags pack karne wali hai.. Daal dena jo tera man karega.. Ken 2 din me kapde bhijwaega.. Meko dikha dena sab.. Mai pehen lunga jo tu bolegi… Ab zyada sochna nai.. Okay?” he asked as he settled next to her in the couch..

“Sidharth, tu ghr jaa.. Mujhe Shehnaaz se akele me baat karni hai” said Mom.. Sidharth agreed and left after pulling Shehnaaz’s cheeks..

“Shehnaaz, Bache, I am very proud of you.. Lekin tujhe bhot sambhalna padega, Khudko.. I know this industry.. I know how Colors work.. Mai nai chahti iska kuch bhi asar tum dono ki real life me pade.. Tujhe pata hai contestants kaun hai?” asked Mom as she sat next to her holding her hand..

“Nai Maa, contestants to nahi pata hai.. Sidharth se sirf seniors ke bare me baat hui hai.. Hina Khan aur Gauhar Khan..” replied Shehnaaz..

“Acha.. Thik hai.. Mai abhi zyada nai bolungi.. Mai hamesha tere sath hu.. Ye yaad rakhna..” said Mom..

She didn’t say anything much and went home.. Sidharth looked at her and questioned on her sudden quietness..

“Kya hua hai Shehnaaz?”

“Haa? Nai kuch nai..”

“Shehnaaz, You know you cant lie to me so please tell me what has happened” said Sidharth in a little stern and serious tone..

She looked at him with puppy eyes and blurted out, “Contestants kaun hai?”

She didn’t say anything else and he didn’t get angry too.. He told her the list and He had forgotten about Sara’s things.. He realized something was wrong when She was behaving different.. She was getting things like, “Ise to yaad bhi nai hai.. Kahi ye waha jaake Sara ke pass na chala jaye..” She was getting such weird vibes which was out of Sidharth’s mind.. It was Shehnaaz and her way of thinking was like this.. Uski duniya uske lagne pe chalti hai.. yes she grew up but sometimes, something cannot change..
