TW: I want this to be happy in the beginning. I will tell you about the sad stuff when we get there.

Well, here we go;

Logan's POV

"Come on! Get up! We're making cookies today, You promised!" His husband, Patton tugged on his arm to get him out of bed.

"Alright. I'm up. I'm up!" He laughed.

Patton pulled him off the bed and onto the floor and they laughed.

"Happy birthday," Patton nuzzled their noses together.

"Thank you. Now, what was that about cookies?"

Patton giggled, "Come on! I got out all of the ingredients for the Crofters cookies you love so much."

Logan smiled, he was lucky to have such a great person in his life.

*timeskip*

(This is the start of the sad stuff. TW: previous major character death.)

"No, you're supposed to soften the butter first!"

"I know, it's just. He always did it this way."

"Lo, I-"

(To say that I didn't start crying as I wrote this is a lie.)

Logan shook his head, he didn't want to explain it.

'Lo-lo! You should always do one thing differently from the directions so you can be interesting. You don't always need to follow everything everyone says. Be who you want to be.'

'But the instructions specifically say to soften it.'

'Who cares about the instructions?'

"Who cares about the instructions."

It was a statement. Not a question. But sometimes simple statements can have the most power behind them.
