I gulp and look down at my bag. It has everything I need and more, so why am I still putting items in it? I'm procrastinating. This isn't normal, I've almost never seen Kageyama outside of class and volleyball. Does he expect me to call him Tobio? No, he'd probably punch me. What do I call his mom? Mrs. Kageyama? Ms. Kageyama? Does Kageyama even have a mom?? I sure don't. Okay, I'm getting off topic. I sling my bag over my shoulder and open my front door slowly.

Walking to Kageyama's house is a slow process. I keep "getting distracted" by flowers and pebbles on the side of the road. At one point I see a chipmunk, and I only chase it because Yamaguchi is walking down the road. Wait, Yamaguchi is walking down the road?? I plaster on a wide grin and bolt out in front of him.

"Hey, Tadashi! Long time no see!"

"Hiya, Shoyo. Where are you going at this hour?"

"It's only 6:00. And, um, I'm just taking a walk. What about you, weren't you hanging out with- um..?"

"Yeah, but I'm grabbing some stuff for dinner. You should come over and eat!"

"You know I'm not gonna do that with him there.." I can hardly bring myself to say Tsukishima's name again after he beat me up last week.

"Shoyo, I should probably explain why he did that.."

"No, you're not going to explain for him. I've had the shittiest week of my life, and it all started with your best friend punching me until I bled."

"Where is this coming from..? You've never talked like that.."

"Listen, I'm not going to lose my cool over this. All I'm saying is I don't want to come with you. Also, why are you getting groceries for their family? Do they make you do chores??"

"It's complicated but basically I'm living there until my parents have undergone the whole process of divorce."

"Wait, what?"

"They decided to get a divorce last year but still have to live together until we're financially and legally set."

"Oh, I had no idea.." I say, feeling bad that I got angry a moment ago. "So, you sleep on the couch or somethin'?" I ask, just to try and lighten the conversation. I don't think it works though, because Tadashi's face lights up red.

"Eh, not exactly," He responds, running and finger through the back of his hair. Before I can question that though, he tells me he better hurry up and runs off.

Weird, I think. My phone begins to ring. It's Kageyama.

Before I can even say 'Hello' his voice booms through the speakers.

"Where are you, dumbass?? Take a wrong turn? I thought you said you knew where my house was!"

"I do know where your house is," I sniff defensively.

"Then where the hell are you?"

"I ran into Yamaguchi on the way and now I'm approaching your house." I looked up to see that I actually wasn't bluffing. I was in front of a surprisingly big home, which made it even more intimidating, and the mail box read "Kageyama, 401 Lemon Street".

"Wait, is that you outside? Hurry up and come in."

"Erm, okay.." I say, hanging up. I look up from my phone and glance around, trying to find where Kageyama is watching me from but before I know it my feet are carrying me to the doorstep. I text Kageyama before doing anything else.

Hey, do I just come in?

"My god Hinata, yes, just come in," a voice says, startling me. Kageyama opened the door and is leaning against the left of the threshold. I look him up and down, and begin to blush a little bit. There's something about the way he looks outside of school and volleyball. He's wearing a royal blue t-shirt and grey sweatpants, with some black socks. And, the way he smells is different too. I'm used to him smelling like cologne when we walk to school (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) and sweat after practice. But now, standing in the comfort of his own home, he smells more like very light cologne and a fresh shower. It also smells like food has been cooking, so my mouth is starting to water.

"Hi, Kageyama.." I greet, suddenly feeling extremely bashful. The way he looks, the way he smells, the fact that I've only been to his house once before... It's overwhelming.
