⠀⠀⠀⠀Your close friend who, over the course of one night, became one of the most hated people on the internet, has just been involved in their first big controversy. A controversy of which has been brought upon by you, although, not technically byyou, because it wasn't like you were the one to write up and publish a bullshit article full of speculation and misinformation with the goal potentially being to end yours or said friends career. So, no, you had nothing to do with it. But let's say you feel guilty about it — excruciatingly so — and now you're doubting yourself about whether this mess actually was your fault or not.
⠀⠀⠀⠀What do you do?
⠀⠀⠀⠀Do you: A) Laugh about the article the first time you see it, thinking it's all a joke up until you realise it is serious, like Warren. B) Proceed to get really angry and take to Twitter to clear your name, passing your phone over to your journalistic friend named Rory before you hit 'Tweet' to make sure you don't say something you might regret, like Warren. Or C) Pretend you weren't just crying about the whole thing three days later during a plane ride home from Europe as you hope like hell that your snoring, idiot best friend named Elliot, who insisted he fly back with you a day before you're scheduled to, doesn't wake up beside you and take notice, like Warren.
