In a Black Notebook

Queenly is a woman with a lofty standing
But hopeless is a man who gladly appreciates
This is the terror we ought to live by
For the mirror we reflect into is broken

Powerful is the pain that he fervently despises
For it is in its great strength that propels him to transcend from his reach
Mysterious is the silence that he highly fears
For it is in its shallow depth that creates an unending cycle of doubt

Create an invisible for field of might
Our good faith is our best weapon
With eords of chastity, we bow down
Humility measures our will

Triumph is not the ultimate answer
It's the wisdom we instill elsewhere
We may win in title but not in soul
That's the most unrealistic victory

Do not simply hear out but listen
The voices of the hurt are mild
Aggressiveness has shut them down
To their whispers as they ask

Author's Note:

I wrote this at school in 2016. These stanzas are hand-picked out of the many ones in a black notebook given to me as a Christmas gift.
