"Ginny Weasley" The professor called. I looked to my right and nodded to the red-headed girl next to me. She squeezed my hand and made her way forward. The old hat seemed to take not even 5 seconds before shouting, "GRYFFINDOR!" The table to my right burst into applause. I gave Ginny a thumbs up. A couple more people were called up before me.
"(Y/n) Rose?" I slowly made my way up towards the hat. Once it was over my eyes I heard a voice.
"Hmm." the hat said, "You are a new one. I see.... Very brave but also very kind. It would be either Hufflepuff or Gryffindor for you." I started thinking about Ginny and how I would miss her if I was a Hufflepuff. "But you want to be with your friends don't you? Well, better be GRYFFINDOR!" I broke into the biggest smile. I left the hat on the stool and ran over by Ginny. We gave a quick hug and waited for the feast to begin.
I quickly warmed up to everyone around me. To my right was Seamus and across from Ginny was Dean. The bushy brunette across from me was Hermione. I had heard Ron talking about her in his letters.
"Hey Ginny? Do you know where Ron is?" I asked. She seemed to think about it.
"I don't think I have seen them since the train. Maybe they missed it?" I shrugged.
"Well I hope they don't do anything stupid." Hermione huffed. I knew I would like her.
"They are boys, what else would they do? Be smart?" I scoffed. The whole table around me burst into laughter.
"I have something to show you later," Ginny whispered to me. I gave her a confused look but nodded.
---Time skip---
Ginny and I share a dorm. There weren't enough girls for 4 of us in our dorm. We are so lucky!
"So what did you want to show me?"
"Remember when Malfoy was making fun of us?"
"Yes?"
"Well I found a book in our cauldron that we definitely did not pick out. Look!" She thrust a small black book at me, which I caught with ease. I opened it.
"Its blank."
"Yeah but there is a name. Tom Marvolo Riddle." Sure enough there was.
"Lets write in it. Maybe we can put it to use." I said. Ginny nodded. I got out a quill and ink and sat at the desk in the room. Ginny pulled up and chair and sat next to me.
Hello. I wrote. Suddenly, the ink disappeared into the page. Ginny and I share a look.
Hello. What is your name? Suddenly appeared on the page.
My name is (Y/n) and my friend here is Ginny.
Well nice to meet you two.
We spent the rest of the night writing back and forth and switch who wrote once our hands hurt. I was around 11:30 when we said our goodbyes and crawled into bed.

The next morning we grabbed the book and headed down to breakfast. We noticed Ron, Hermione. and Harry were already down there. The boys looked flustered so we already knew Hermione gave them an earful. We sat a couple spots down from them and started talking to Tom again.
"RONALD WEASLEY! I AM ABSOULTLEY DISGUSTED!" We heard Mrs. Weasley's voice boom through the hall. Ginny and I shared a glance and continued writing. Suddenly the Howler flew in front of us. "Congrats you two for getting into Gryffindor." It turned back to Ron and blew a raspberry to him then shredded itself into pieces.
---I hate doing time skips but lets go to right before the first attack---
"Ginny, lets go. We have to talk to Tom today remember?" I nudged her. She nodded and followed me upstairs.
Hello Tom. We are here like promised.
Good. I need you to both put your hands on the book. We did as told. Okay, its going to feel weird but it will be over soon. I suddenly had shivers down my spine. I heard a little voice in my head and my mind go blank.
Kill the chickens. I heard. Ginny and I started to walk down to Hagrid's Hut and killed his chickens. Go to the abandoned bathroom, and find the snake. I looked around the bathroom at all the sinks before I found a snake engraved into the faucet. I felt myself whisper something in a scratchy tone and the sink disappeared. Close your eyes! I shut my eyes tag along with Ginny. Then everything went black.

Hey loves. I know this is a short start but I promise it will get better. Word Count 788. I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Yes I will fly through some years. Not much happens in their second year so I might do a one chapter run through of that year. It will probably be boring though.
