The Morning sun held bright in the sky as a large frigate ship sheered through the waves, but while the deck crew busied themselves getting ready to make port, Talon could only lean his head over the side of the ship with a sickly green tint filling his cheeks.
"You know I usually find your suffering amusing but watching such a renowned figure be defeated by waves is just sad."
"Fuck you too Es."
Talon recognized the voice all too well but could only groan out weakly at scarlet's comments. Over the years, Horizon's members had grown to be good friends and comrades, but scarlet Esren still held the same edge as when they first met. While many with an outside perspective would assume they hated each other in truth, Talon knew that Scarlet just put up the attitude to keep people out, but she would adopt a softer side when alone.
"You'll be fine, you great big baby."
"Why did it have to be by ship, I came back via bullhead, why couldn't we just go via the bullhead, or train or really anything else. I'd accept horse and cart over boat any day."
"You know why, if we went via bullhead it would have been too weighed down by all our gear. The only way to move all that would have been a flagship and you know full well that a military flagship suddenly flying into downtown Vale would have caused mass panic."
"Yeah your right, people would probably think we're starting another war, but still I wish to reiterate I hate boats."
"We're nearly there so quit complaining. Need me to get you anything?"
"Thanks but I'll be fine Es. If we're nearly there, I'm gonna start suiting up hopefully the gyros in the suit will help me out."
With that, the two walked their separate ways, both getting ready to make land but one, in particular, could not stop the smirk from growing on her face.
Across the surf back on dry land team RWBY wandered seemingly without direction at the edge of the city joining the docks, Weiss walked ahead, beaming a bright smile while the rest of the team hanged slightly back evidently unsettled by the sudden change in persona. As several flatbeds turned and pulled into the docks, the heiress spun to keep her eyes on them before locking eyes with a large frigate and a smaller cargo ship coming into port and giving a happy sigh.
"Oh, this is absolutely wonderful!"
"I don't think I've ever seen you smile this much, Weiss. It's kinda weirding me out..."
At her leader's comment, the heiress spins back to her team, but instead of glaring still holds the same wide smile.
"How could you not smile? The efforts of all four kingdoms coming together, pooling experts and resources, taking only the best and those with the most potential and moulding them into something genuinely remarkable! Oh, the amount of planning and organization that goes into this operation is simply breathtaking!"
"You really know how to take a good thing and make it sound boring."
"Quiet, you!"
Yang's comment finally got the heiress to give her trademark glare before the quartet continued along the edge of the docks as the two ships came into port with the blare of a foghorn.
"Remind me again why we're spending our Saturday morning visiting the stupid docks?"
"Ugh, they smell like fish!"
With Ruby covering her nose to try and stop the smell the group don't notice blake's nose and bow twitch before quickly burying her head back in her current book as Weiss speaks up on exactly why she dragged the rest of her team down to the docks.
