After hours of rummaging through the closet, I finally pulled out a tattered wedding gown, hoping it would fit me. It did, and although there were slits and tears all over, I didn't mind, I could be Emily from Corpse Bride. I smiled gleefully as I applied the face paint. Amanda had told me about the invitation. I stepped into the ball room, eyes widening at the massive candies sitting right in the centre and slow-turning disco lights that shifted colours, all pumpkins. I could see the higher gods seated above, laughing. I swayed to the music as I munched on a toffee, closing my eyes. I immersed myself into it, as my body swayed. I felt a tap on my shoulder and looked around to see someone dressed exactly like me.

"May I have this dance?" she asked, blue eyes swimming.

I could barely breathe; the fact that she was simply pulling me with those eyes was astounding. I blinked as I took her hand.

"I want to enjoy this while it lasts," she looked up at me. I smiled softly as I rested my head upon hers. "Me too."

I closed my eyes as I felt her kiss my neck and sighed, closing my eyes. When I opened them I was no longer at the ball. I saw a forest around me as I looked at her.

"Ah, causing trouble again, isn't it, Aphrodite?" I recognized that as Zeus' voice, as shadows emerged. I saw Athena looking bored, Poseidon, furious, Hermes with a smile and Eros, pacing.

Aphrodite looked at me apologetically, and then pleaded. "Please, Zeus."

"You expect us to believe that one, you are asexual and two, that Astris is your Destined? Preposterous," he scoffed. "No matter, get on the web."

I felt myself being propelled upwards.

"Walk on it. You will see seven rings of web, walk on each one and then the inner ones. If a web holds you in place we will know what kind of Destined you are. I liked Aphrodite, she seemed kind and helpless. I knew the feeling, being queer myself. I stepped on the web, balancing myself and walked along it. I stepped into each inner web. "It's over," Athena said with a final resolute.

"Please wait, she hasn't entered the final one," pleaded Aphrodite.

Zeus pursed his lips, as I walked into the final ring. I saw everything around me get brighter, the moon, the lights, the place and shut my eyes but not before I saw a final word like a firecracker. Philia.

When I woke up I saw Aphrodite sitting beside me, hand in mine, looking at the Giant Moon. We were back, but outside, sitting on a high wall.

She didn't speak as I watched her look far away. "Astris," she whispered. Let me tell you about the six types of love, ours a seventh one, a controversy."

I enclosed my hands in hers, immersed in those bright blue eyes.
