There is an Imposter Among us

Chapter 1: Lights out

    [Narrator's POV]

Questions were flooding Lori's mind Its so cold...  Where am I...  Where is my crew? Did they save me? Lori thought as she laid on a cold hard floor of a place that didn't seem familiar, at least she didn't think so. She then heard a voice calling out to her it sounded like.... Kacey?

[Lori's POV]

"Lori!" Kacey exclaim hoping to wake me up. My eyes flicker open only to get flooded with hugs from my friends. "Woah woah woah! Give me some space you'll suffocate me you dummies!" I shouted. There was a moment of silent before they started to laugh soon enough I laughed along with them. I looked around and noticed our clothing, we were wearing space suits and it seems like we were in a spaceship. "Hey guys where exactly are we?" Lulu asked. "I'm not sure, its best to stay calm and-" Fade  tried to reply before getting interrupted by a mysterious distorted voice, "You are in a place called 'The Skeld ', don't bother trying to escape trust me nobody's gotten out of here alive" the voice laughed. Noticing shocked look on Toffee, as if she'd seen a ghost. "You of all people should know that Toffee and Lori" The voice said laughing. Why do I recognize them? I can't remember who though... 

"Why are we here!?" Yelled Toffee shocking everyone considering she wasn't one to yell. "Woah chill its gonna be okay," Kacey attempts to comfort her "I promise we'll get out of here together." I hope we can get out of here together but something tells me things won't be smooth as we think. We suddenly saw a bright light which leads to another part of the ship "Proceed towards to the next part of the ship." The voice instructed, it seemed like we didn't have any other choice so we went forward. 

" 2 of 10 of you are not who they seem to be. You each will require tablets that have a map of the ship. If you wanna get out of here alive you'll need to finish all 10 tasks which will be listed on your tablet, however 2 of you are able to sabotage such as The Reactor, Oxygen, Lights, Communications, and the doors. This is kill or be killed no mercy now.. Let the game start." We heard the voice say soon enough the beginning of the end of us started.

-In the Cafeteria- 

We were all sitting on a round tables clear wide view of space behind us. "What should we do now? And what did they mean two people aren't who they seem?!" Toffee panicked while Lulu had her hand on Toffee's shoulder. "It'll be okay Toffee we'll get out of here." Lulu said trying to calm her down. "But what if we don't get out of here alive?!" Toffee growled walking away. "I'll go after her so she doesn't get hurt." Lulu told us before running after Toffee. "Please stay safe you two!" Kacey called as Lulu ran to catch up with Toffee. "They'll be okay Kacey. Besides they've been friends for a long time, I doubt anything will happen between them." I said reassuring her they'll be okay. "So what should the rest of us do? We can't just sit here on our asses not doing these so called 'tasks', if we wanna get out of here together alive than we shouldn't waste our time." Fade exclaimed determined to get out of here. "You know what... He's right!" I yelled not giving up on hope, but still worried on Toffee and Lulu.

[???'s POV]

How naive of them to continue to trust each other... The short hopeful one will be good. Watching the hope getting ripped out of her as they slaughter each other... That will be a real good show.. Heh... This will indeed be fun... I just need to get rid of that other girl... Tch I hope they are prepared... I started walking where Toffee and Lulu went smirking ready for a plan.

[Fade's POV]

Huh.. I thought I heard someone going away from the area as if we were being watched but then... noticing that there was actually 8 people here and not 10 as the voice had said. "Hey guys," shouting a bit getting their attention " that weird voice told us that there was actually 10 people, but there is only 8 of us here that we know. " I explained to them. "You have a point about that there are only 8 and not 10 like the creepy voice said." Kacey said I assume she's feeling on edge. "What do we do about Toffee and Lulu? They're still you know... Wandering around 'The Skeld' as the voice calls this space ship!" Lori exclaimed worrying about Toffee and Lulu, although I couldn't blame her we don't know what could happen on this ship. 

"I say we take a tour around this ship so that way we will know our way around here and so maybe we can find Toffee and Lulu." Kacey told us as she pulled out a orange tablet from her backpack which was also orange. We all agreed on taking a tour of the ship knowing that would be the quickest ways of finding both Toffee and Lulu. "The first place we look towards is to our right 'Weapons' then we'll go down in to 'O2'." Kacey explained to all of us. I had an odd feeling about it but I just went with it. We started walking to our right into 'Weapons', but then I saw Lori going to the left, away from the group. Then I followed her making sure she doesn't notice me then she went down into another room, I pulled out my tablet and looked at the map to see the room was called 'Admin'. She went to a weird mysterious table witch had a visible map on it that showed everyone but 6 people were in 'Weapons', I noticed she flinched "You shouldn't spy on someone or you'd look suspicious." I heard her say before showing myself to her. 

[Lori's POV]

Kacey wanted all of us to go to 'Weapons' but I decided to separate from the group to see who would follow me and turns out Fade did. I suddenly flinched hearing his footsteps. "You shouldn't spy on someone or you'd look suspicious." I said before he showed himself. "How did you know I was there?" Fade asked me raising his eyebrow. "Well I'm not sure how this table works but it gives a view of each room showing a number of people in there and as soon as I got to the table it showed that someone just left the 'Cafeteria' so I wondered who could've followed me and I knew it was you cause who else is a bigger simp than you?" Explaining to him. "Oh I see but," he paused for a second as I see him look towards the number of people shown on the 'Admin table' then he spoke again "But there are two people missing Lulu and Toffee." Fade informs before sighing. "I don't think that either one of them would be foolish enough to do that, after all from what I have seen they seem to care for one another." I told him, reassuring that Toffee and Lulu would be alright. After what I said it seems he was finally relieved, but I can't expect things to stay like this. We are trapped on this Space ship after all.  I don't know if we can all make it out alive but I will try my hardest to keep everyone safe even if it's the last thing I will ever do.

We decided to stay and watch the Admin table for a little while longer. "Who do you think are the two imposters?" Fade suddenly asked, breaking the silence in the room. "I'm not sure but we have to be careful about who we trust, not to mention there are other people who we don't even know who could possibly be serial killers or terrorists. There's are a lot of possibilities." I answered with a serious tone. Suddenly the lights go out, throwing us off guard. "Let's go to electrical maybe we can fix the power there." Fade recommended as he pulled out his tablet checking where electrical is. "We aren't to far from there let's go." Fade said as he grabbed my hand after putting his tablet away. We stopped suddenly, "Why did we stop is there something wrong?" I asked him. "The door is closed." He replied as he let go of my hand, I assume he was trying to find a knob. "I don't think these doors have any door knobs." I shared my thoughts. These doors had no other way to be closed, unless the imposters were trying to target someone who was possiblity alone.  Maybe attempting to get someone in the dark, so they don't get caught by the people around them, but what if this is the only door closed? I felt uneasy now thinking about other situations. At this point everyone who was together is now scattered, the only door closed is the admin door. But if someone was dead who would find the bod-  my thinking gets interrupted by hearing the sound of the doors opening.

[Fade's POV]

Lori seemed to be mumbling to herself until we heard the doors open and as soon as the doors opened we saw the lights flicker back on. "Well what do you know we're ok and you no longer have to be scared anymore." I joked as Lori lightly punched my shoulder. "This means that someone fixed the lights in Electrical wich is good news so now me and you can gather with the others!" She expressed happily grabbing my hand as we ran down the hall to meet whoever was at Electrical.

Hello everyone this is the author/writer of this book! I'm so glad I finally got the 1st chapter out I totally forgot about it as soon as school started I will try to start on chapter 2 as soon as I can till next time stay safe from covid!
