Friendship Pact

The next morning was the same as usual, I get pushed around in the hallways and people disregard me. Nothing I'm not already used to. By the end of fourth period I was feeling kinda nauseous and dizzy but I had no time to worry about myself as I tried to avoid my bullies. Unfortunately i didn't a good job at avoiding so you must already know what I'm encountering next. "Hey Kathy, let's have a chat, or are you too busy whoring around", said one of the dumb cheerleaders. And okay the first thing that offended me was that we had been in the same classes since the first grade and yet she still couldn't remember my name, is she that dumb? And second of all I have never even had a first kiss so why make those accusations. I swallowed my anger and responded calmly, "Well how about we chat later since we both have classes to get to". I could tell she was pissed about something but i couldn't tell what, I mean I'm just an invisible, harmless girl. But before she could say anything else I quickly sneaked out of their sight.

Thanks to that skank I was late to my english language arts class, and trust me you do not want to get on Mr. Abernathy's bad side considering he hasn't been sober in over a year and yet no one has fired him. " Ms. Evans it's nice to know that you'll be joining me for lunch detention, seeing as you're 5 minutes late to class", said the old drunk. Sigh, now I can't even see my friends at lunch who I'm sure are better off with out me. As the class ended I prepared to have my lunch period totally ruined. "Go ahead and get your lunch and I'll see you back here Kassia" Ughh I literally dragged myself to the cafeteria and feeling all dizzy wasn't helping the situation at all. By the time I actually got my plate of gross food, the lunch period was about to end so I decided to just eat the apple on the plate and dump the rest. When I got back to Mr. Abernathy's class I saw him laying on his desk clearly drunk as fuck. So I took this as a chance to leave and made my way to shop class to try and get a head start on a birdhouse me and Leo were supposed to make. Notice how I said "Supposed to" since Leo had been goofing off most of the time but who can blame him.

Walking into shop class I noticed that Leo had beaten me to it and was currently working on our birdhouse. "Well look who actually decided to work today", I said in a very surprised tone " Well I guess I realized how much I needed to pass this class, though you're lucky I'm working it and you're not. Considering that you got no skill." he responded with a cocky smirk. "Really now I have no skill, wow,that's just very insulting, you hurt my feelings Valdez", I responded with a hand over my chest faking my feelings being hurt. "Well I'm just being honest with you" Oh that little shit he thinks he's better than me. "Would you like to prove it then, that I , Kassia Evans has no skill whatsoever in shop class." I challenged. "Well then how about you make your own birdhouse and we see which one gets the better grade. If you don't mind of course Miss Evans" "Of course I do not mind" "Well may the best birdhouse win", Leo said very confidently, so confidently that I was afraid that I would lose this challenge. When class ended I felt more dizzier than I had been all day, but before I could do anything about it darkness filled my eyes and then I was lying on the floor.

"Kassia, are you okay?", I heard a voice say as I tried to open my eyes. When I managed to open them I recognized the nurse's office and Leo standing over me, sporting a very worried look on his face, something I hadn't seen on anyone I've ever met. "Kassia are you feeling better now?" he asked again and I managed a small nod. "Oh my gosh you scared me, I was about to walk out of class and then all of a sudden you were on the ground, so I brought you here. You were only out for about 15 minutes but are you sure you're fine?" he asked again. This time I actually answered back,"Yeah thanks Valdez, for being there for me." "No problem" he answered. After a few moments of silence he spoke "Kassia how about we make a deal?" Okay that was weird, "What kind of deal?",I asked with curiosity. "I don't want to see you hurt again so how about we be best friends now and have each others backs. I mean I did just sort of saved your life there." Woah I've never been asked this before. "Sure, I would like that a lot. And my life wasn't in that much risk but okay whatever" After a while Leo said, "So, should come up with our own secret BFF handshake?"
