Chapter 60: You're Golden Baby

I woke up and I felt sick to my stomach abt today, Emme wasn't in bed beside me so I got up and went into the living room. I could smell cookies from in the kitchen, I walked in and she was bent over in the over,

She stood up and closed the oven holding a cake tester,

"Good morning" I said sitting at a bar stool,

"Good morning" she said with a smile and leaning over the counter to kiss me, "how'd you sleep" she asked pouring herself a coffee,

"Not too bad, Em baby I'm going to be honest with you. I feel sick to my stomach abt today" I said and she nodded,

"I can still cancel" she said and I shook my head,

"No, its okay. Don't cancel" I said and she looked at me for a second then nodded,

"Hey Mama" Libby said coming down the stairs followed by Oakley,

"Hey Love Bug" I said as she hugged my side,

"How'd you guys sleep?" Emma asked then and they both nodded,

"very good" Oakley nodded and Emma smile going back to the oven,

"What are you making mom?" Libby asked getting two cups down for her and Oakley,

"Just some cookies for when my mom comes over" and Libby froze and looked over at me.

"She's coming here?" Libby asked and Emma nodded still turned away, Libby looked at me and Oakley did too with slight fear and wtf faces. I shrugged and took a sip of the water Emma gave me,

"Mom" Libby said

"Hmm?"

"Why is she coming here?" Libby asked and Emma turned to her,

"Rach, honey you said you'd let the girls go in with an open mind" Emma said looking slightly sad at me

"Baby I didn't-" I started and Libby cut me off

"Mama didn't say anything to me abt it. I just want to know why you are letting her come here?"

"Oh uh, she wants to meet you guys and-"

"I don't want to meet her" Libby said and Emma stood frozen,

"What?" she asked

"Mom I really don't want to meet her. I've seen what she does. I have never seen Mama so afraid of someone, or someone hurt you the way she does. And so I have no want to meet her or give her the time of day. It was a mistake for me to call her and invite her here" Libby said and my jaw slightly dropped and Emma nodded bitting her cheek,

"Ok" Emma nodded and Libby nodded back turning back to the cabinet. Emma looked like she was holding back tears and I wanted nothing more than to just hold her. I knew what Libby said was true but I knew it was absolutely destroying Emma on the inside.

"Oakley and I are going over to her mom for a little bit" Libby said and Emma nodded still staring at the floor with her arms crossed leaned back against the fridge,

"Mom I'm sorry, I know you want us to meet her but I don't think I can mentally or physically handle it" Libby said and Emma nodded quickly wiping below her eyes before looking up at Libby who looked sorry for hurting Emma's feeling but stood her ground. She hugged Emma then left with oakley.

I got up and went over to her,

"Am I being stupid?" she asked as I leaned against the counter beside her,

"I don't know baby" I said rubbing her back,

"I'm being selfish" she said slightly chocking on her words trying to hold back tears,
