Kayla

The tension during this car ride was intense. It was almost a mixture of sexual tension and the fact that they don't know how to have a civil conversation with each other is really what's killing the vibe at the given moment. I know what some of y'all are thinking, "If you don't get back together with Drew." but it ain't happening anytime soon. I want to enjoy my little time being single and what better way to do that than to spend some time with a WOMAN who already has a career and her life planned ahead of her?

"Someone's a little lost in their thoughts. Mind telling me what's making you look out the window in a daze?" Marissa asked

"Oh, just thinking about a way to distract myself from my new found freedom." I said as I gave a distant smile

"You were in a relationship?! Since when?" Marissa asked

"I wouldn't even call that a damn relationship with how short that bitch lasted. I hope you don't think about taking that hoe back because I will literally beat the shit out of you before moving out the apartment." Alyssa said from the back seat

"What do you mean by 'not a real relationship'? Did she cheat on you Kayla?" Marissa questioned as she looked over in my direction

"Yeah she did but I'm over it. Besides, we're almost at the restaurant and I don't want to ruin anyone's appetite." I claimed while also attempting to drop the conversation

I knew that I didn't really do a good job with having them drop the conversation but it was enough for me. Once Marissa parked her car in one of the available spots at, we got out the car and each walked to the door. Marissa held the door open for us and we were immediately greeted by the hostess.

"Hello, welcome to Rainforest Cafe. How may I help you all?" The hostess asked with a smile on her face

"Is it cool if I have a table for myself? I don't want to be at the same table as y'all if yall gone openly flirt with each other. And, please let me know if I'm going back to the dorm by myself." Alyssa claimed as she looked at her sister with an hopeful expression

"Fine. I'll just cash app you the money for your meal. Do you mind sitting with me Kayla?" Marissa asked as she looked me in my eyes

Been a minute since I've had any......maybe going home with Marissa isn't a bad thing

"I don't mind at all." I said softly as I looked at scenery of the cafe

"So one table for two and a table for one. Would you guys like to sit near each other do you want to be spread out from each other?" The hostess asked as she grabbed three menus

"Keep it distant. Please, the lightskin one is my roommate and white 33 year old is my older sister. I don't wanna overhear no conversations that these two have." Alyssa said with a hint of disgust in her voice

"I didn't judge when you hooked up with my co-worker's daughter and nearly got me fired, so don't judge me if I want a little taste." Marissa smirked as she eyed me

Alyssa's mouth nearly dropped to the ground before following the hostess to her table. Alyssa was seated first in a single booth and handed her the menu before Marissa and I followed the hostess to our seat. It was in a more romantic setting, I could see all the vines and the plastic animals all over the place.

"Why are you always in thought when I look at you? What's on that mind of yours?" Marissa asked as she took off her coat

Before allowing me to sit down, Marissa pulled my chair out and pushed it back in when I finally sat. She then went to her seat, sat down, and handed me my menu so I could pick out what I wanted to eat.
