LILA'S SECRET-CHAPTER FOUR"Eros stop!" He drags me by my ankle through the house. I pull at the door frames trying to get away from him, my bloody nails scratch the white paint off and with one hard pull, Eros throws me into the corner of the hall. I cough in a fit, feeling all the air pile up in my throat. I had yk get out of here. He'll kill me if he has his way. I don't know who the man in front of me is. The demon clothed in the powder blue top and grey slacks glowers at me with dark evil eyes.
"I've had it with your disrespect, whore. You think that the shit that leaves your mouth will let you come out unscathed but this is where I draw the line. The physical approach may not work and for that I accept the failure but I have one left."
"Please don't do this." I cry to him. I'm on my knees, begging for him to do anything else than what I think it is. He comes up close and I can see Vallis behind him staring at us apprehensively from the stairs. His clenched hand grips the bannister while the scene unfolds.
"Vallis please, don't let him do this!" He opens the door and nothing but darkness greets us. I hug his leg reluctantly. I don't want to go in there. Oh god no. Anywhere but there.
Vallis approaches us. "Stand down Vallis, she'll learn to respect us one way or another". It's then I see through his false display. Vallis' head hangs low in defeat. He turns on his heel and is about to go down the stairs.
"If you put me on there I'll hate you both! Especially you Vallis!"
"By the time I'm done, you'll barely know yourself enough to hate anything but that room." He kicks me off with his foot and shuts the door. There are no windows and the only light I see is peeking under the door. I scream and knock the door down but nothing works. This isn't a small room where I can just descend into madness and escape my reality. This is a maze. They knocked down three rooms to make this. At first I'd only ever seen the door open on occasion of the two retrieving things from there but once I came in here to get away from them and the door wouldn't open after I shut it. I was stuck in here for two whole days walking up and down every square inch of this prison running from the monsters that appeared in my sight.
I was fucked up for days on end. They made me promise to never come back in here and I all but swore on my life. Now they're using my fear against me, the darkness was something I hated. It played on my fears and anything I imagined just always managed to haunt me from its opaque confines. Lock me with a killer clown, anything but the dark. You couldn't see anything in here so you thought it was everything.
Maybe it was them. I slow my breathing and crumple into the corner. Sounds of breathing echoes in the room, I pull my knees to my chest and start crying. Oh God please let me out. I start hyperventilating. My eyes scan every possible part of the pitch darkness. I'm scared. I can feel cold sweat running down my back. My bruised cheek thumps just as bad as my broken fingers and torn nails.
"Where are you going darling? Don't wanna play with your old man?" I crawl backwards on my hands, head flicking every known direction looking for an escape. The side table tucked between the two armchairs gets knocked over as I start pushing harder. His brown eyes promise me a painful ending. I hop up watching how he gazes at me with a hungry smile and outstretched arms. He mirrors my moments as I lean slowly to the left.
My heart starts hurting badly and I know it's because it's beating a million beats per minute. The door opens and I run towards it. My mother stands at the entrance brown paper bag in hand as a cigarette hangs from her lips. She pulls it off and blows a line in my eyes causing me to rub them quickly.
