Movie Date

It was nearing the middle of February, specifically a certain day. Valentine's Day. The week before the 14th, the typical group of four were sat at their lunch table. "Where's the leech?" Yeonjun asked, shoving a spoonful of rice into his mouth.

The somewhat healthy-haired brunette from across the table hummed, "I'm not sure about Soobin, but Beomgyu was called behind by the teacher for disrupting class with his annoying-ass cackle."

Chuckling, Kai added to Taehyun's explanation, "Soobin is helping the animal biology teacher." From beside them, Shuhua asked, "Soobin is still helping her after the first semester ended?" Poking at his kimchi, the long-haired boy nodded, "apparently, he agreed to help out for the full year."

With a roll of his eyes, the freshly-dyed, pink-haired boy hurriedly suggested, "should we all go bowling this year for Valentine's Day?" The girl in the group awkwardly laughed, almost unnoticeably.

Kai shrugged, "I don't really feel like going bowling. I think we should just go see a movie and then get food afterward." Before Yeonjun could respond, Shuhua stuck her hand out and gave them a tense smile, "I have a date so I can't go."

Two of the three boys gasped as the other one calmly stared at her. She flinched in surprise at the others' reactions. "Who are you going out with?" Yeonjun asked in a shocked manner. Looking down at the table, she bashfully smiled before answering, "your sister."

With widened eyes, Yeonjun tilted his head to the side, "my- my- Soojin? You two are dating??" Shuhua waved her hands in front of her, "no- I mean, yes, but no. I asked her out so this will be our first date."

Out of everyone at the table, the only one who still seemed astonished was Yeonjun. The other two boys already saw it coming and were happy for the raven-haired girl. "Well, then, I guess just the three of us will be-"

"I can't go either," Taehyun stated in an enunciated tone. Snapping their heads toward him, the three were confused. It was only after a second that they realized what the answer might be. "Beomgyu forced me to ask him to stay over at my house on Valentine's Day. It was involuntary," he sighed.

Narrowing his eyes, Yeonjun snorted, "involuntary? He forced you to ask him to stay over at your house?" The brunette nodded in response, easily disregarding the obvious flaw in what he previously said. Thinking that over, Yeonjun decided to just ignore it.

"So, you two will be spending the night together?" Shuhua asked, wiggling her eyebrows. The younger boy simply nodded, "he stays over at my house all of the time." Kai smirked, "but, it's Valentine's Day."

Immediately after that, Yeonjun smacked his head, "you're not allowed to think those thoughts." Rubbing the back of his head, Kai frowned, "you taught me." Yeonjun mocked what he said, "you know not to follow what I teach you."

Rolling his eyes at the others' interaction, Taehyun leaned on the palm of his hand, feeling someone tap his shoulder. He turned around, being met with a familiar face. Scooting over, he allowed the newcomer to sit down.

"Anyway, what are we doing next week since it's just me and you, Kai," Yeonjun asked, sparing Beomgyu a quick smile out of acknowledgment. The long-haired boy hummed prolongingly, "let's just go see a movie."

Groaning, Yeonjun leaned his head on the table, "that's so boring but fine. We can go see whatever cheesy, romance movie they end up playing." Agreeing to that decision, Kai smiled. The table was quiet for a few seconds despite the loud chatter in the cafeteria.
