That day went by in a flash, filled with unwanted revelations and painful truths.

But all Rin could really remember in vivid detail was one thing: Holy shit, he'd made a deal with Satan.

Shiro's body was rapidly dying, decaying faster than Rin thought humanly possible. Then again, this was the work of Satan, his father and the most evil being in existence, who also wasn't human.

Satan cackled and gleefully ripped off some of Shiro's fingers and gave only half-coherent introductions to Rin as he formed a portal that looked exactly like what you'd think the portal to Hell would look like. Then Rin was grabbed by the throat and thrown in as Satan spoke of rebirth and taking Rin home with him. Rin barely even noticed how the skin of his throat sizzled and burned for the short time Satan's hand was around it.

Shiro's body was covered in blood and blue flames flickered wildly around him, highlighting the grotesque expression on his face as he laughed maniacally while Rin sank deeper and deeper into the portal–The Gehenna Gate, Satan had called it.

In his shock, Rin could only remember one thing about demons–they loved making deals. They were known for it even outside of this world of actual Exorcists and Demons! So, in his desperation to save himself and maybe even Shiro too(if he could manage it), Rin called out to Satan.

"Wait! I can make a deal with you!" His voice sounded hoarse and holy shit did his vocal chords hate him for using them, but he forced the words out past the agony. He vaguely wondered if Satan's mere touch had ruined his vocal chords.

Satan stopped and stared at him in part confusion and part astonishment. This kid wanted to make a deal with Satan, the biggest baddie of them all? While he thought, Rin finally sunk completely into the portal and suffocated for what felt like forever until finally, his top half fell out of the portal, hanging upside down.

He saw hordes of what must have been demons under him, watching the portal with wonder as a boy popped out, dangling above them. He didn't even notice that the Demon World reverted him to his original form–blue-white hair, electric-blue demonic slitted eyes, fangs, elongated pointed ears, and small black horns curving up from his messy hair, and wreathed in spectral blue light. To the demons, he looked like a glowing beacon for them to reach towards.

Loud cheers erupted and they reached up–for him, he realized later when he had time to process what had happened. They called to him and reached up to touch him–or maybe catch him when he inevitably fell all the way into wherever this place was–most likely Gehenna.

The sky was dark, and the moon was full and bright, shining down on the residents of the Mirror World. He realized that it really was a mirror world–no inverted color scheme or smoggy miasma around like he would've expected. The moon looked like the moon and he could see the stars glimmering in a way he'd never seen since he lived in the city where there was so much light pollution.

In the sky, he saw chunks of land floating, sparkling particles catching the moon's light as they floated in space. He realized that the demons below him were on a considerably large chunk of floating land where the grass was tall and green and being tranpled underfoot.

Something fluttered by him and he looked around frantically. All different kinds of demons flew around him in an excited funnel. Some fluttered, some glided, some flapped, and some simply floated. Some were deceivingly beautiful and some had no faces or had grotesque-looking features. Some had wings and others had webbing and even more had nothing to indicate they could stay in the air.

Soft wings caressed his face and he looked into the eyes of a smiling demoness who looked like a combination between a stingray and a moth–her body was humanoid, but covered in a soft-looking fur with fluttering wings that looked like a stingray's keeping her in the air. Thick plumage-like fur wrapped around her neck, wrists, waist, and ankles. Her four eyes were solid deep purple. Antennae sprouted from her forehead and she had an extra set of arms that held onto Rin gently.
