Quinn stood in a corner behind a wall, gun drawn and ready to shoot. The bombs didn't seem to have reached the outside of the building, but the explosion defenitely drew concerned people in. Looking carefully through the crowds, Quinn quickly gave up on finding any bad guys. "Stay behind me." She said to Nia as she took a step away from her hiding spot, starting to search with her eyes for the car.
It was parked across the road on the side of the building, away from all the people. "Don, can you come any closer?" Quinn called out in her radio. "The lack of hostiles out here seems too good to be true." But before the driver was able to answer, two police cars came out of nowhere and an unusual amount of cops started spilling out of them. "The guy that was killed at the club... there was a security camera. You couldn't see the face of the guy who shot him, but he was wearing a police uniform."
Quinn remembered her conversation with Hal just in time, her bullet hitting a cop before he had time to shoot her. Adrenaline was pumping through Quinn's body like never before as she saw the other cops all draw their weapons at once. Nia let out a scream when they started shooting, and Quinn pushed them both against the concrete wall. Given the amount of bullets flying past them, they undoubtedly had machine guns. Fuck.
People in the crowds started fleeing the scene. Quinn held Nia close to herself and as soon as the shooting paused in the slightest, she peaked her head out along the wall and confidently pulled the trigger. Another one down. She turned to Nia, who was understandably terrified but surprisingly kept together. "I need you to start going slowly backwards to the car. Keep yourself as close to the building as possible, got it?" Nia nodded and started moving carefully.
To Quinn, that moment was like being back to the battlefield. Sure, she experienced gunfire from time to time in her job. But the chaos of bombs, machine guns and masses of corrupt policemen in the middle of the city? That type of shit, she only knew from Iraq. Just as Quinn started losing hope, actual police sirens could be heard. She kept shooting at the corrupt cops, until the real ones came closer and they switched aim with their machine guns. Quinn took her one and only chance, grabbed Nia's hand and they ran together towards the car.
"Drive!" Quinn was in the backseat next to Nia, who was sitting completely frozen in shock. Quinn teared up from seeing her so shaken, as she pulled Nia closer and held her tight. "It's going to be okay." She kept whispering calmly, even though she knew the danger was in no way over. The car was driving quickly against the airport as per protocol. The fact that they were in a foreign country only added to Quinn's stress. She noticed Don kept looking in the rear view mirror. "Uh Quinn, I think we have a tail."
Quinn looked behind the car, only to see a van following them with guns pointed out the windows. "Get down!" She yelled as intense gunfire started destroying the car. "Go faster! Do not let them shoot the tires or we're dead!" The driver held his foot down hard on the gas and Quinn tried to comfort the screaming Nia whilst they were being shot at, driving recklessly through the streets of Paris.
Quinn took a deep breath before opening the already broken glass window and sticking her own gun out. She wasn't one to waste bullets, which she was incredibly happy about in that moment. Quinn took her aim and hit one of the gunmen in the hand, making him drop his machine gun. The shooting slowed down a bit, and Quinn held the shaking Nia, trying to calm her down. Sitting down in the backseat, she failed to notice until the last second that the men in the other car had switched their guns, giving them full range of the now sitting driver.
"Down!" She yelled with all her power, but it was too late. Several bullets went through the driver's body, but his foot was still on the pedal. The shooting paused for a second when the gunmen realized they'd hit somebody, and Quinn took that chance to jump into the front seat. Nia just kept talking to herself on the backseat floor. "This isn't happening. This is all a dream." The car behind them started shooting again and Quinn had to duck, which meant she couldn't see where she was driving.
Luckily they were on the highway right then, but that wouldn't last. She looked at the dead man next to her. "I'm sorry." Quinn said out loud before pushing him over to the passenger seat. She tried to keep her mind straight as a thousand different scenarios went flying through her mind. Come on, focus. Quinn thought about trying to loose them through dangerous driving, but she already didn't know what she was doing. What was left of the very few opportunities she could think of in her state of mind was a two man job. She had no choice.
"Nia! I need you to take the wheel!" She couldn't look at Nia, but strongly assumed that she looked as panicked as she sounded. "What?!" "You can do it! Stay down, and just take the wheel!" There was a pause before Nia yelled back at her. "But I don't know how to drive!" Quinn tried not to get frustrated. The situation they were in right then was obviously scary, but she was certain about her plan. "Just push down the paddle and hold the wheel! You can't see where you're going anyway!"
She heard Nia take a deep breath, and then she clumsily climbed in the front seat whilst Quinn and her traded places. "Hold on!" Quinn yelled before pulling the trigger out the window, hitting one of the tailing car's tires. She grinned at the pannicked face of its driver before aiming at the front tire and taking the shot. The car behind them completely derailed, and Quinn watched it hit another car before breaking the fence and driving straight off the suspended highway.
"Yes! We got them, Nia!" Nia looked back at her with an adrenaline filled smile. And that single second, was all it took for a car to appear in their path. "Oh fu-" was all Quinn had time to say before they crashed.
