Chapter 10
The eyes stayed locked on mine only for a moment. Cole tensed by my side, the vampire held out his hand gesturing for us to sit. We both cautiously sat down, he smiled at us.
"Welcome to Virginia," He said smiling at us his voice deep with a musical tone to it. He was handsome I had to admit but his scent was driving me insane, I figited. He looked up at me his eyes calm, but his lips pulled into a frown. "I'm sorry I know my scent must be alittle irritating" he said standing up. He moved to a window and opened it letting the sweet breeze in.
Cole stayed tense his hand fisting, the tendens under his skin showing while his knuckles turned white. I reached for his hand but pulled back, looking up at the man as he spoke. "I know you probably don't want to be here right now, expeshally when your prinicpal is a vampire." He chuckled but then pulled himself together, "We aren't going to start anything, we are just trying to fit in. Trying to make a truce between vampires and werewolves." He said his dark eyes flashing to Cole. Cole still didn't let down his gard, the wind swirled around me my hair swirling in my face. The prinicpal looked at me his eyes changing from a dark brown to almost a dark black. "Your a special one." He said looking at me, I looked at him as a smile formed on his lips. "Your a witch, but your blood also has the tint of the lycanthrope." He stood pacing behinde his desk, "Not very many of you around, maybe say about three out of ten." Cole looked at me his eyes showing nothing. I chewed on my lip not meeting the mans gaze, "Well I forgot to introduce myself, I'm Sebastian Mitchell. The principal of Virginia High School," He said smiling holding out his hand neither of us took it. His smile filtered away and took his hand back embarrassed, "I don't think you guys are ready to trust me yet." He said frowning, then a knock sounded on the door. We all turned to the door, in came in a lean little girl that was human. She had a bunch soft carmel curls around her face her violet eyes held an innocence that made her look cute and sweet, she had a smile on her face as she looked at us. Mr. Mitchell stood smiling. "Cassie, Cole this is Briella Reed, she will be showing you around the school." He said gesturing to her, Cole and I turned to smile at her but she just stared at Cole. I frowned, wow this was probably going to happen a lot. I stuck out my hand trying to get her attention, she turned to me smiling her cheeks pink. "Hello, Briella." I said as she grabbed my hand shaking it softly, she smiled mumbled hello and turned to look at the prinicpal who was smiling at her.
"Well since you have gotten to know each other I can let you guys go." He stuck out his hand again this time we both took it, hiding the conflict between us and left the class room. I sighed taking a deep breath as we walked through the small office. Cole looked at my a small smile forming on his lips. But it didn't reach his eyes, he pulled me into his side, Briella saw and automatically changed sides. She came to stand by me, she smiled at me. "Where are you two from?" She asked as we walked out into the crowded hallway. Students gawked, girls whisperes. Guys highfived each other and Cole glared. I stayed focused on Briella. "We came here from Tusla Oklahoma." I said with a smile, she looked at me nodding. "I hear it's nice down there." She said smiling I nodded in agreement, "I was going to move down there this summer but my dad decided to stay here." She said opening a door, I smiled. "It would have been really cool to meet you down there if we were still down there." I said with a small laugh, she looked at me questioning. "Why did you guys move here?" She asked as we made our way into a math room.
A woman stood behinde the desk her back turned to us as she wrote on the smart board. Her silvery platinum blonde hair shined in the flourescent lights, I let my eyes wander as Briella made her way to the front of the classroom. I looked at the math posters and frowned, Trig was not going to be my favorite subject. I looked to the front again on her desk a name tag stuck out. Mrs. Mitchell. I felt my body go rigid as I stopped in my tracks. Cole ran into me, "Oh, sorry." He said steadying himself against a desk and smiled at me. I looked up at him but didn't smile. His smile faded, "What's wrong?" he asked.
