ERIKA'S POV
I was running towards the classroom when I heard the bell. I made it on time, thank goodness. I was at the edge of the door catching my breath when the teacher came in. I was late because I sleep late last night, well of course. What could it be? I finished reading the book about Meribella. I ran towards my chair and I saw Dominick was already in his chair. I almost stumble down when I sat down.
"Horse in the leash?" he told me. I looked at him and stare at him as if I was about to peel his precious skin. But keep it cool Erika, your day is not good enough already, don't make it worse. I looked away and started to listen in class.
"Today class, we will talk about music." our teacher started the introduction for this subject. Music, my forte. I knew something was good today.
"Music? It's the only thing weak people should have." Dominick commented. What? Weak people? What does he mean by that? Anyway, forget it Erika. He is just messing your head.
Keira volunteered for an example. Well, of course she does. She is the head president of the music club and it is her forte too. But, she doesn't have the golden voice to sing, I mean, her voice is common. Not special or any connection at all.
"See? Music is an illusion to the audience to cover their weakness. Music isn't a talent." Dominick again commented. I looked at him and stare.
"Music is a talent and not everyone has it," I told him while Keira is still singing and looking at his precious Dominick
"Music isn't a talent, it is a skill. A skill learned to seduce the audience for your fame." he went closer to my eyes and whispered it. I felt goosebumps in my body and I felt a little tingling from my eyes.
"Have you ever seduced anyone?" wait, what? Why did I tell him that? Erika....
Keira finished singing and everyone clapped except me and Dominick. We were still staring at each other. I was waiting for his reply.
"Sorry, I'm late." I still stared at Dominick. I just heard Anneliese just went in.
"I can feel the tension Ms. Mattel and your highness." the teacher noticed us. I broke off the gaze. I raised my hand. The teacher called me, I stood up.
"Sir, Dominick told me that music isn't a talent but instead it is a skill. A skill learned to seduce people for fame. I believe he's wrong. Music is an emotion used by a singer or person to express his feelings or what he or she believes." I looked at everyone. They seem to be listening to me and some of them nod and agree. I sat down and this time that arrogant prince raised his hand.
"Sir, would like to hear me and Erika sing a song?" he told the teacher
"How about, I'll play the tune. And you both will sing a love song, in your own lyrics. Got it?" the teacher said. That idiot! He stood up and went in the front. I have no choice but to follow him or else I'll get embarrassed. I can sense Keira's glare and it's like she wanted me to be dead.
I stood beside him. I knew that I could compose a song in an instant but how did I end up again here? The teacher started to play the tune. I listened to the tune heartily. Then I started singing.
"Once a lass met a lad/ You're a gentle one said she/ In my heart I'd be glad/ If you loved me for me/ You say your love is true/ And I hope that it will be." I sang the first part and I felt liked Dominick was staring at me
