He continued to practically drag me to my house, as we got there I quickly opened the door. We both rushed inside, out of breath. I shut the door and locked it, resting my body against it as I try to figure out what the heck is happening. I close my eyes for a moment but all I can see is my moms face.

"Thanks for helping me out.. You didn't have to do that." My eyes look over to him, his tone of voice is now very cautious and he seems defensive. I remember what I look like and sigh. "I found my mother in the kitchen.. She had been.. She.." I look down, unable to continue. I hear him shift slightly. "After you went to that little forest place?" I look up at him curiously. "And how do you know that?" He smiles sheepishly. "Uh.. I might've been there for a little bit." My eyes narrow slightly. "You saw me use my magic then." He nods slowly. "A word of that to anybody-" "Yeah! Gotcha!" I scoff slightly, he didn't let me finish my threat.

I sigh and walk towards the kitchen, the bucket I had held onto.. Pretty much empty from all the running. I hear him following me. "Do you need somethin-" I turn around, only to bump straight into his chest. He was a good 8 or 9 inches taller than I was.. Of course everything is taller than me as I am only 5"2. He immediately steps back. "Ah.. Sorry, I just want to make sure you don't.. Do anything.." I raise a brow. "Sure, this tiny woman could totally kill you." I turn back around and get to work on cleaning up the rest of the mess. I could feel his stares. "Can you not stare please." "Sorry it's just.." "No, no I get it, you think I murder people. If I seem that untrustworthy then my room is upstairs to the right, you can stay in there for the time being." I don't look at him as I continue to clean, eventually I hear him walk away.

As I continued to clean up the rest of the blood, my emotions still just numb.. I hear a large knock at my door. I stand up and walk over to the door, opening it. There stood an incredibly tall man, with scars from burns everywhere the eye could see. I didn't let it show but he was scary. "Can I help you sir?" I said in the most polite voice I can muster. "Perhaps.. What is on you miss?" I look down and see all the blood and dirt still on my clothes. "Ah.. My apologies for being such a mess! Today is my biggest chore day so I was gardening and painting." I smile sweetly, I may not be good at a lot of things but lying is something I excel at. He gives me a small look. "I see.. Well I'm just here to see if you saw a man rush by here. He's a realm crosser and needs to be brought to justice." I gasp quietly. "A realm crosser? How frightening.." He nods. "Yes, but please don't worry ma'am.. We'll have the situation under control as soon as we find him." I put up a front, letting myself look terrified. "O..Okay.. Do you know what he looks like..?" He describes the man I let into my house. I could see the man looking at me closely as I listened to his description, he's trying to see if I have seen him. I widen my eyes and start to tremble a little. "My goodness.. I did see him!" His eyes widen slightly. "Do you know where miss?" I place a hand over my chest. "I was with my younger sister.. He ran straight into us, knocking us over.. He threatened me to not tell anybody about it before running back off." The man nods. "You did the right thing telling me, do you know where he went?" "He looked like he was headed towards the luminous forest." The man sighs and nods. "Thank you miss, you've been a big help." I smile faintly. "Glad I could be of service!" He bows. "Good day madam." He then turns and takes his leave.

I shut the door with an exasperated sigh, leaning against it. "That was some really good lying." I jump and turn towards the voice. "Oh.. I prefer to call it acting." I see the man at the end of the staircase, leaning against the frame. "None the less, it was really good." I shake my head and walk over. "You need to explain. Realm crosser?? Isn't that illegal?" He grins like a dork. "Sure is!" "And.. Isn't it punishable by death??" He nods. "Also true!" I sigh, but can't help but feel jealous of this guy. That sense of adventure I've always been fond of.. He must get to live in it. "Which also holds the question.. Why didn't you turn me in?" He lowers his face so it's closer to mine, a stupid smirk on his face. "Is it because-" I place a finger on his nose and push him away. "Back off.. I have no grudge against you so why should I turn you in?" He looks at his nose and then back to me, that stupid smirk still there. "I dunno.. You tell me." My eyes roll almost naturally. "Whatever.. I'm almost done cleaning so just relax I guess." I walk back to the kitchen, starting to feel the mental and physical exhaustion kicking in.

After about 20 or so more minutes of cleaning I finally finished. I took a moment to look outside, it was almost getting near dusk. Adeline needs to get up.. I slowly make my way towards the stairs. Honestly the only thing I want to do right now is sleep.. But I need to get a bath and make sure Adeline is okay. As I walk up the stairs I hear Adeline's cheerful laughter coming from her room. I walk in and see the man playing with her, a bright smile on his face. "Key-da! Key-da Key-da!!" She happily says my name and starts crawling over to me. I lower myself to my knees, trying not to show how tired I am. "Hey girlie!" I pick her up and kiss her cheeks. "Did you have a good nap?" She laughs and claps her hands. I smile softly. "I'll take that as a yes." My gaze drifts over to the man, he is watching us with a soft smile on his face. "She's gorgeous.." He says, looking at me. I nod. "Yeah.. She got my moms looks." "Mama! Mama!!" Adeline starts looking around for her excitingly. My face drops, how am I gonna explain this.. I hold her still and look at her, she's smiling so happily.. "Mama.. Mama isn't here right now okay? She's busy." Adeline's smile drops. "Mama..?" I shake my head. "No mama, just me okay?" She slowly starts to cry, I sigh and hold her gently.

The man scoots closer to us. "You okay?" I look at him. "Finally convinced I'm not a murderer?" He scoffs and shakes his head, he then looks at me straight in the eyes.. I could get lost in them.. "I'm serious.." I look at him, feeling the tears start to form, I quickly look away. I hear him sigh quietly and stand up. I follow suit. "I never did catch your name miss..?" "Kayda. And you?" "Edward holder! The fire realms most dangerous outlaw!!" He dramatically says. Adeline laughs at his silliness. "Fire realm? So you use fire magic?" He nods. "And not to brag but I'm pretty good at it." A cocky grin gets plastered on his face and I roll my eyes. "Sure.."
"Wanna see it?" He wiggles his brows. I shake my head. "No, I don't want the house burning down." I laugh a little. "Hey! I'm not that bad at it!!"

We walked downstairs and I set Adeline on the floor, she looked hungry.. I sigh and make my way towards the kitchen when I feel Edwards hand on my shoulder. "I'll take care of it, you go rest." A small smile is on his lips. I look at him, feeling grateful. "I.. Thanks." I turn and walk back upstairs to get a bath.
