The rain outside splattered on the car windows as Kie drove through the roads of Seoul.
It's been long she thought.
She turned on the radio and before you go started playing. The streets had changed alot, a new coffee shop stood in place where she used to secretly buy mochas from. A sign hung from the teal coloured door reading 'Jacked up".
Kie parked the car and opened the door to a chime of bells. Her eyes scanned around the room, it was chaos, packed to the full with children shouting and people screaming at the top of their lungs. She stepped on a hot puddle and backed away, disgusted, reaching out for the door to leave.
"OH THERE YOU ARE!" hands suddenly turned her around and pulled her towards the kitchen.
"Excuse me I-" the words barely came out of her mouth as this boy rushed her towards a cupboard and threw an apron above her head carelessly.
"I think you got the wr-" she opened her mouth again but he cut her off.
"We are packed! Quick deliver this latte to table number three" he pushed a cup into her hands and rushed off, barely glancing at her face. Kie stood frozen to the spot, unable to move.
"Get going!" he screamed and she rushed off quickly, but to where she didn't know.
"Excuse me! Over here!" A lady waved at her and she went over to her.
"Where is my drink? It's been ten minutes!"
"Here it is Ma'am" Kie smiled and pushed it towards her.
"A vanilla latte? But I ordered an expresso!" she protested and got up from her chair.
Kie leaned closer and smiled menacingly, forcing the drink into her hands.
"Enjoy your drink Ma'am" she whispered threateningly and smiled, tucking a loose hair strand behind her here. The woman looked at the girl staring at her and decided a vanilla latte wasn't so bad after all, nervously gulping the hot drink as Kie walked away.
She needed to find that guy. What the hell was he thinking?
She saw him serving an old lady and walked towards him, ready to demand a full explanation.
"Ah there you are, please go and get some sugar for Elaine" he nodded and bustled off before Kie could even breathe a word.
"The damn thing is too bitter" the lady slammed her fist on the table. Kie leaned towards her until she was inches away from her, face to face. The lady looked alarmed.
"Take it or leave it ELAINE" she exclaimed and slammed the table herself. The lady picked up her handbag nervously and practically ran towards the door.
WHERE IS HE? Kie looked around the room, which was almost empty now. She saw a blur of a beige apron and ran towards it.
"Hello?" she called behind him and he turned around. Kie was suddenly taken aback. The guy had ebony black hair that messily hung over his face and the softest black eyes, round with surprise and excitement. His smile ... his smile looked achingly familiar but she failed to tell where she had seen him before.
"Oh hey! Excellent work today, I must say that-" he moved towards her balancing a tray of half empty coffee mugs and crumbs.
Crash.
"Whoops"
Kie opened her eyes, drenched in coffee, slithering down her eyes and her clothes sticking to her skin. The boy look scared for a brief moment and ran his hand through his hair, grinning sheepishly. Kie wondered if he could not see the steam coming out of her ears, this stupid, stupid boy. She was going to kill him.
