Chief boden walks with the new paramedic towards the kitchen were the rest of the team was. "i would like to introduce a new member in our firehouse. she will be leading paramedic on ambo 61." the woman smiled. "i'm alex. i heard great things about 51 and i am honored on joining the team." they greeted her. christopher hermann couldnt resist on making a remark about kelly severide. "just be careful for that one. he has a reputation. just a fair warning." alex nodded. "dont worry i can spot the pretty boys quit fast." the blue eyed man scoffed. "wow quick to judge." the woman smiled and then the sirens went off. "who said it was a bad thing? pretty boys usually get the girl." she winked at him and then ran to the rigs and the ambulance to go to the call. he didnt have the time to respond. on call they got a woman out who was acting weird in her house. Sylvie brett, who was paramedic on ambulance 61 for a while was checking the patient. it wasnt making any sense to sylvie. then the woman collapsed. she wanted to give her something when alex stopped her. "dont." she frowened at her. "alex, we need to do this or we're gonna loose her." she shook her head. "it doesnt add up. look at her house. look at the neighborhood. something is wrong." she whispered. "see the husband? he is fake worried. i think she has been poisoned." sylvie looked at her. "with what then? we didnt see anything that could serve as that." alex went through her mind. "he is a doctor right? what do they say about the perfect murder and nobody is gonna notice until its too late." sylvie's eyes widened. "omg. would he?" alex shrugged her shoulders. "severide, would you mind taking the husband in the other room please so we can work?" she made eye contact with him. "sure." he took the man outside. alex took a deep breath and looked at sylvie. "lets look for a syringe mark." they looked everywhere and then sylvie took out the woman's shoe and spread her toes. "alex." she showed it. "got it. now we can take her to the hospital." sylvie smiled. "nice work." the woman nodded. "its part of the job. i just pay attention to everything around me too." they prepared her and got her on the ambulance. chief boden walked over to the ladies. "i think she was injected on purpose chief. guess who is a doctor?" he nodded. "we need to be discreet with this. i'll let chicago PD in on it. nice work. you'll do good at 51." alex smiled and got into the ambulance while sylvie drove to the hospital. the husband said he would come to the hospital. chief boden called voight to look into it.

back at the fire house, they were wondering what happened with the woman. so when alex and sylvie returned, the 21 questions came. "alex spotted that she was injected with insulin. its hard to spot and she could have died. its was on purpose. the husband confessed at the hospital." their eyes widened. "wow, how did you know alex?" lieutenant casey asked. "i pay attention to my surroundings and she was acting strange and then the house, the husband, it just hit me." he was impressed. "good thinking. we are lucky to have you at 51." she smiled. "thanks. i like doing my job. helping people is just amazing." hermann came forward. "you should come to molly's tonight. first drink is on me." alex smiled. "thats the firehouse bar right?" he nodded. "thats correct." she smiled. "i'll be there."

after her first shift, she got ready for a night at molly's. her first impression of everyone was good. especially that lieutenant from squad 3. the ladies liked kelly severide and alex was no different. only she was more direct then most women and she would always get what she wanted. alex wore a nice black blazer dress and comfy shoes. the woman could dress up but she didnt like to have sore feet so no pumps for tonight. at molly's she sat at sylvie's table. kelly noticed her and sat with them. "so what did you mean with the pretty boy usually gets the girl?" sylvie rolled her eyes. "excuse me for a moment." the blonde was tired of his hitting on the ladies. alex smirked and kept on drinking her beer. "i dont give away all my secrets on the first day lieutenant." he smiled. "you can give me a hint. will i find out soon?" alex had him right where she wanted and looked at him. "that depends on how much game you have." kelly laughed. "i can show you." alex shrugged her shoulders. "easy there tiger. i'm not that easy. it will happen when i want it to." kelly knew she was the one in charge for now. "alright my bad. looking forward to that moment then." she smiled and he went back to the guys for a drink. alex was already imagining how it would be with that man. she had a soft spot for the pretty ones. the bonus was that this one got brains too.

the next day they got a call for a house that needed to be checked out. squad 3, truck 81 and ambulance 61 where called. severide walked to the front door and tried to look inside through the side windows but couldnt see anything inside. alex was doing her thing again. the house looked abandoned. they called out but nobody answered. "who called it in?" she asked casey. "we had a call that someone could be hurt inside but everything is locked." alex frowned. "and nobody took the time to go in but called us right away? if they heard someone is hurt, they can help, but i guess i get it that you rather call 911." he nodded. "thats true." he noticed her thinking it over. "your mind is racing again huh?" she smiled and just when severide made the decision to bust in the door, alex heard a click. "kelly!" and she pushed him to the side when a loud gunshot blasted a whole through the front door. everyone got down and luckally nobody got hurt. severide looked at her. "what the?" she was breathing heavy. "i heard the click. its a trap. people use it to prevent people coming into someone's home, when you have something to hide." he eyed her. "how do you know that? do you get it at med school?" she shook her head. "no, i have brother school. my brother is adam ruzek." their eyes widened. "ruzek? as in intelligence working for voight ruzek?" alex nodded. "yeah but i dont use his name to get somewhere. i fight my own battles." severide smiled. "i can see that. i guess i'm lucky you can. we're gonna check the house. is it the only trap or are you gonna have to save my ass again?" alex smiled. "just be careful when you walk into a room alright. maybe call the police first before you guys go in there." he nodded and looked at chief boden who was already on the phone with them. "looks like the chief is doing that." she stepped back from him and they waited till the police arrived to clear the house. alex and sylvie were called in for the victim. the call was over for the firehouse.

alex was having lunch at 51 when severide passed her. "hey, got plans later?" he shook his head. "nope." he smiled. "you do now. you and me and movie later. its a car drive in. i've been wanting to get into that car of yours since yesterday." the man smirked. "what time do i pick the lady up?" she thought it over. "make it 8. a girl needs her time to get ready." he nodded. "its a date." she scoffed. "dont be late pretty boy. my offers dont last that long." kelly liked her boldness. it made her more attractive to him. "dont worry. you made me curious." alex smiled. "thats the point." he walked out of the kitchen and the rest was looking at her. "hey, dont judge me. he is hot." sylvie laughed. "you definitely poked his interest." the woman smiled. "thats gonna be one interesting night. i'd tell you that." she finished her lunch and went to the locker room.
