I spotted a new car beside my mums fairly old Volvo. A light blue Volvo was stationed on the left side of the garage. I bounced over to the car enthusiastically, pulling Lilly along behind me. The keys were attached to the silk riddon atop the roof of my new car.

"Do you have your license?" Lilly asked in a quiet voice as I grabbed the key.

"Of course!" I chuckled "But I may have sorta driven my first car into a tree." She stared at me wide eyed and I smiled an impish smile.

"When was the last time you drove?" She asked, running her hand along the side of the car.

"When I saw you in the shopping centre" I told her truthfully. She nodded once before letting go of my hand and walking around the car to sit in the passenger seat. I smiled, opening my door eagerly but carefully, assuring I didn't scratch it.

"Wait!" Lilly protested as she jumped out of the car "We need to get dressed." She ran off and into the house. I sighed before following behind her. I threw on some jeans and a Star Wars T-shirt. I bounded happily back into the garage before sliding into my car and waiting for Lilly. As I waited for Lilly I pulled the key out of my pocket and slid it into the ignition with ease. I slowly turned the key until I jeard the quiet purr of my brand new volvo. I smiled, leaning back into my seat as I rested my hands on the steering wheel.

"Very nice" Lilly complimented from beside the car as she opened the passenger side door. I looked over at her, sitting up straight in my seat. She had somehow managed to put her natural, neat curls into a perfect plat, not a hair out of place. Her fringe was still out as always but today it hung over her right eye until she moved it aside. She was wearing jeans and a black shirt with a heart of roses in the center.

"It really is" I agreed. Behind us the garage door began to open and I peered through the rear view mirror and watched as the garage door slowly opened. Mum was standing beside the door, watching as it opened. I put my hand on the gear stick and pushed it into reverse. I slowly backed out of the garage, waving to my mum as I passed her before turning onto the road.

"Where are we going?" Lilly asked out of curiosity. I had never realized how child-like her voice is. But the question got me thinking. I didn't know where I was going but I was heading somewhere.

"The café" I decided. In the corner of my eye I saw Lilly reach out to turn on the radio. Thinking out loud began to play and I smiled.

"Can you sing?" I asked, keeping my eyes on the road. Lilly went silent and I glanced at her through the corner of my eye to see her staring awkwardly out the Window. I chuckled as I slowed my car to stop outside the café, turning off the car and placing the key in my pocket.

"Come on" I encouraged as I slid out of the car. Lilly slid out of the car, stumbling as she placed her feet on the ground. I ran to her side, steadying her. She threw her arms around my neck, pulling herself as close to me as possible.

"You ok?" I asked, gently wrapping my arms around her waist. Her silsnce frightened me and at times like this I sished I could read her mind.

"Yeah" she whispered after at least a minute of silence. She unwrapped her arms from around me and pulled away before grabbing my hand and walking into the café with a smile. Lilly sat down at the seat by the window. The same table we sat at when I had talken to her for the first time in eight years.

"Do you want anything?" I asked before sitting down. Lilly looked up at me and shook her head.

"No, I'll be fine" she assured me. I sat across from her, reaching my hands out to place them ontop of hers in the middle of the table.
