Lena's P.O.V

My alarm started ringing at 6 o'clock to wake me up for school. I compliantly went along and turned off my alarm hopping out of bed. I would have forgotten everything that happened yesterday, if I didn't hear Ross let out a long snore. I froze, remembering I have to remain quite, because he was probably not getting up anytime soon. I picked up my glass of water, and swallowed a to-big glop of water then started coughing. I held my breath right after, Oh God he's going to kill me. "What are you doing up at 6 in the morning?" he hissed at me, his voice still groggy from sleep. "Sorry, Ross I have to go to school!" I tried to sound apologetic, but i'm really not a morning person. He let out a groan. "Sorry, I'll make sure i'm extra quite." I whispered. I was pretty paranoid eating breakfast, wondering if he was able to hear me munching on cereal, but when I thought about it I never heard him eat, and he didn't comment on anything when I had dinner last night. I think its really what comes out of our mouths than what goes into them. Lisa's normally quite in the morning, and I don't see my brother until we have to leave for the bus stop, so I really don't talk at all in the mornings. I made it to school, just listening to music, and Ross's snoring. While I was at my locker my friend Jessica came up to talk to me, I think she caught the drift I was tired because I whispered my conversation back to her. Other then that I got to 2nd period around 8:30 when Ross woke up, huffing himself around the house, It was a nice distraction from math, to listen to him answer his siblings questions in his morning voice.

If Lena didn't wake me up at 6 I would have totally forgot everything that happened. Shes so quite! I wan't sure if she was joking when she told me, but she doesn't say anything in class, I wasn't sure if she fell asleep, to be honest. sometimes I'd hear her whisper things, but I guess after I woke up, she talked in her normal voice. Man, I would have thought she was a loner if it wasn't for her talking to some girl name Avery, I guess they're good friends or something, because I had no clue about half the things they were saying to each other. Girls are difficult to understand. I tried talking to her sometimes, asking her what shes talking about but she never answered. until around 11 o'clock, she called for me. "Ross?" "Hrm." I was right in the middle of showering, we had a concert tonight.  "It's me Lena, i'm in the girls bathroom, i'm talking on my phone to make myself seem less crazy." she whispered the last part and I laughed. "I can't talk to you during school you know!" she chuckled back in her cocky voice, "People would think it weird if I just answered your questions." I just started laughing. "I know, I figured when you never answered back." she cut me off, "For the record, i'm normally this quite, i'm to tired to speak at school." I rubbed some shampoo in my hair, "Yeah that's the reason, you know what else I noticed?" "What?" "You say sorry, A-lot. I mean like that's all I heard you say for a long time." "Sorry-ergh! I know its a bad habit, I'm klutzy and I bump into things all the time and I end up saying sorry." she embarrassingly laughed, "We'll, I have to go Ross, my friends are done in the bathroom, I have to go eat lunch." "yuck lunch at 11 in the morning? i'm sorry." she just laughed, "Yeah you should be sorry, it's all your fault." she sarcastically jeered. I laughed, "Bye, Lena." "Bye." it was quite for a bit, then I heard her embarrassingly answer, "No, he's just a friend..." to her questioning friends as to who she was talking to on the phone. I just grinned and rinsed the shampoo out of my hair.

The rest of the day I talked normally with my friends, Ross sometime confusingly interjecting his thoughts, making me laugh. But I notice something, that boy, is ALWAYS singing! I mean, after he finally got out of his morning fog, he was a hyper ball of energy, singing, humming, dropping a beat, IT was incredibly distracting, but also fun to listen, too. I really craved to join him in the fun, but then- I don't know, people would hear me. I did hum along with him sometimes, when the classroom got noisy, we'd both end up giggling, then he'd try to talk to me again. I was finally at the last class of the day, when a horrific thought hit me, Choir- which means, Ross will hear me sing. I mean, Choirs fine... because I just blend my voice with everyone else, and sing as quietly as possible, but Ross wont be getting the others voices- he'd be fully just getting me. I think I started having a panic attack, I mean I never sung solely for anyone before. My choir teacher told us to stand up, and we were starting with this Christmas song called Ding-a-Ding-a-Ding or something like that. The first half of the song we literally just say Ding-a-Ding-a-Ding. Which, would be a nice transition, I mean, if I am actually going to sing. So with regret clogging my throat, I began singing.

I was playing catch with Ryland, Rocky and Riker were working on a new song. I haven't heard from Lena in a while, I was about to whisper to her, if school was out already, Ryland wouldn't be able to hear me anyway. But then I heard her sing, I had no clue what she was doing, like ding-a-ding or something, but I just started laughing and whispered to her, "what are you doing?" she got choked up a bit,  but then barely breathed out the word "Choir." and continued ding-ing. Then it hit me, that person singing, the first time I heard her, was Lena! She has that amazing voice! But as she sings now, shes so quite, of course her tones are so rich, but, shes not giving it her all. She came into this part where they actually started saying words, she was practically whispering it, "Lena, what are you doing?" she stopped singing for a bit, her voice going wobbly, "I heard you sing before, go, sing! give it your all!" I realized I was obviously talking to myself, so I coughed into my jacket sleeve. Ryland didn't really seem to notice, we just continued passing the football back and forth. "What?" she whispered. "When?"  "The first time I started to hear you, I thought someone else was singing but it was you!" I grinned into the collar of my jacket, hiding my mouth from Ryland's view. She continued to mumble along, it was alright, when she sang this way, but I know she could be a thousand times better. "Ross..." she muttered, in between two Dings. "I..I...Can't." I sensed the defeat in her voice, there was no way she'd start singing like what I heard anytime soon. Her shaky breathing was obvious enough that she was uncomfortable with the fact that I can hear her. It was quite for a while besides her low tune, until I muttered, "Don't worry, Lena, forget about me, I won't pay attention." She slipped in a "thank you" between some notes.

Lena's P.O.V

The rest of the day, we didn't talk to each other, after school got out he went to sound check for his concert, and then the concert started around 8, Its was so fun to hear him interact with the audience, he has so much excitement and passion in his voice during concerts, you could tell this is something he loves doing, I always liked that about him, that he's not afraid to live his passion. When he was talking to the audience, introducing the next song, I let out a "woohoo!" and he laughed, but honestly i'm not sure if he could hear me over everyone else screaming. I ate dinner, and showered, did some homework, all while he sang his heart out, and afterwards talked to SO many fans. I noticed how different his breathing is when hes exhausted, no wonder he loves sleep. It was 11 at night when his siblings were out getting shaved ice or something, I was lying in bed listening to there excited conversations, him giving out his pure laugh. I tried to read a book, but I was so tired, but my mind was being constantly pulled back to him. I turned off my light, and was lying there, when I finally groaned out his name, "Ross, I have school tomorrow!" he stopped his conversation, to exclaim an "Oh!" then he started talking quieter from then on out. It was 1 when they got back and he was finally in bed, I was drifting in and out of conciseness, when I heard him mumble "I'm soo sorry Lena!" I think I said, "I'm gonna kill you for this." Before I passed out.
