Maeve walked back to the common room. She had been with Remus all night. It was nearing midnight and somehow needed to get past Snape who would no doubt be doing his late night checks.

Maeve managed to get down into the dungeons when she heard Snape behind her. "Well Miss Black. What do we have here. Out past curfew are you?" He said.

Maeve turned back to him. She smiled. "Sorry sir. I was at the library and I completely forgot the time. And as I'm in Slytherin, you wouldn't want to deduct points. Because then Gryffindor would be winning and we don't want that do we professor?" She said.

"This never happened. Go back to the common room."

Maeve walked into the common room. Alexa was sitting there with a smirk on her face. "It seems that you were caught. You manipulated your way out of it."

"I'm just that good Lex. Besides Snape is mellow lately. What have you done?"

Alexa shrugged. "Well as per our bet, I haven't gotten him into bed yet. And believe me, I'm going to work on it. I have another six weeks yeah?" She said.

Maeve nodded. "Yes. Have you heard back from dad yet? I haven't."

"No. Cissy said that she hasn't heard from him either. But he's probably in hiding. Keeping on the down low," Alexa said as she looked at her sister. She sighed. "Be careful. I don't know what you're doing. But just please, be careful."

The next morning, Maeve went to breakfast. She saw Remus and Snape sitting next to each other. Maeve sighed as she sat down and took a plate of food. She saw Alexa sitting with Draco. She made her way to sit with them. "You didn't wait for me," she said as she looked at her sister and cousin.

Alexa smiled. "I tried. You weren't waking up so I left you to it. Snape and Lupin have been talking all morning. They're up to something. Either that or they're hiding something."

Maeve knew she was going to have to find out just what Remus was doing. She found it odd how suddenly he and Snape were talking. There was something going on.

Maeve went into the classroom. She had a study period and she needed to know why Remus was all of a sudden talking to Snape. Maeve walked in and smiled. "Can we talk please?" She asked.

Remus nodded. "About?"

"About why you're all of a sudden talking to Snape. I mean, you and him don't get along. And from what I know, you all but killed him when you were younger. Is there anything I need to know?"

Remus sighed. "Your father. We can't get in contact with him."

Maeve frowned. "What do you mean? You think he's dead?" She asked as she looked at him. She was scared. She didn't want to lose her father.

Remus shook his head. "No. We don't think he's dead. I just think he's gone into hiding. Nevertheless Severus and I are trying to locate him. Do not tell Alexa. She has been unstable lately."

Maeve just nodded. She turned and walked out of the classroom. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. She was scared. But just what had happened to Sirius?
