Maeve was still worrying about her father. But she was now having to worry about Alexa who was getting drunk all the time and not turning up to her classes.

When she woke that morning, she sighed and realised she hadn't done her potions essay. And she knew Snape wouldn't let her off just because her father was missing.

Maeve looked up as Alexa stumbled in. "Lex. Not again," she said.

"I can't help it. I miss my father. And I want him back," Alexa slurred as she laid down on the bed.

Maeve sighed. She didn't know how much longer she could cope with everything. It was all getting too much for her. She looked at her. "It'll be okay. They'll find dad. I promise you," she said.

Maeve went to the great hall. Draco was there. "You look rotten. Are you okay?" He asked.

"No. My father is missing. My own sister is basically an alcoholic. Who is passed out in bed right now and I'll have to cover for her again. I can't cope Draco and it's doing my head in."

Draco smiled. "I've wrote to my mother to come and talk to Alexa. She will put her straight," he said.

"I don't think it'll work. But thank you."

Maeve was sitting in the library. She looked up as Remus walked in. He sat down next to her. He smiled. "Are you okay?"

"What is it with everyone asking me if I'm okay. I'm clearly not. I'm doing my OWLs. Looking after Alexa who is close to breaking and so am I. But our father is missing. Who knows what's happened to him. I'm not okay."

Remus nodded. "I know. Thought I'd start off a conversation. I'm doing all that I can do find your father. We all are. But it's like he has vanished off the face of the earth. And I don't know how to feel that my best friend has gone missing."

Maeve looked to him. "I'm scared that I've lost him. Everything feels so messed up right now. And.. if I lose my father, then what will I do? I'll have no one. Cissy has her own family. She won't want me and Lex around her. Remus, what do I do?"

Remus took her hand and smiled. "You'll have me. You'll always have me Maeve. No matter what happens."

"Thank you."

The two of them looked into each other's eyes and kissed. Remus pulled away remembering that they were in the library. "This weekend I will meet you in Hogsmeade. And we will get a room. I think it's time I got you away from Hogwarts," he said.

Maeve nodded. She smiled. "Thank you."

Maeve walked back into the common room. She saw Alexa sitting by the fire. "You've gotta stop this Lex. I can't keep covering for you in class. Especially with Snape. He knows you're drinking all the time. And how long until he tells Dumbledore?"

Alexa rolled her eyes. "Let him. I don't want to be at Hogwarts anymore. It's all too stressful. I want to find dad and go be with him."

Maeve took her hand and smiled. "It'll be okay. I promise you."

"Will it?"

Before Maeve could say anything, Draco walked into the room. "They've found your father..."
