Chapter 1 - The Sapphire Sky

The tapping of Y/N's rosey red shoes were mixing with the loud noises of the city and all its bright neon lights. Y/N glanced up into the dark sapphire sky, oh how they wished they could just fly and get away from all the noise. Oh to be with the puffy clouds and glistening stars...in the anime world. "Heh, I wish" Y/N mumbled looking down. They kicked a pebble into the air, watching it fall onto the gray and gravel-filled ground.

Y/N eyes then turned their side, "Jake?" They said, looking at their friend who's hand was on his girlfriend's waist. Jake and his girlfriend turned to face Y/N, "yeah (nickname)?" His girlfriend smiled. "Aww! That's such a cute name!" Jake chuckled and pulled her closer as he whispered something in her ear. "Yeah, yeah, but Jake...Do you think I can go? I don't really think I wanna be a third wheel and you two seem so happy-" Y/N started but cut themself off due to the 'ping!' sound of a notification. Y/N pulled out their anime sticker-filled phone, seeing the Yagami Yato update, "oh- finally!" Y/N half shouted, due to being between of the road and sidewalk. "Huh? Who is this 'Hawks' guy? Jake's girlfriend asked. "Samantha...babe he's a fictional- I MEAN anime character..." Jake stated not wanting to upset Y/N.

Samantha's eyes turned to slits then closed them before mouthing a 'oh' and smirking. She flipped her bright orange hair into Jake's face making him let go of her waist, "Y/N are you really serious? C'mon let's get you a...lover? What are your preferences?" She said tilting her head to the side and smiling. Y/N nodded and smiled at her, "Jake you got a good girlfriend," Samantha blushed and smiled back while Jake laughed, "Guess you're right, huh (nickname)!"

The three laughed and talked while walking to Y/N's apartment, "Sooo...you like all genders? Okay then my mission, 'Getting Y/N, a lover' is a go!" Samantha squealed. Y/N shook their head, "Nah I only have eyes for Hawks" Samantha turned to Jake with a confused face then to Y/N, "But isn't Hawks, like, not real?" Y/N looked down and nodded, "Yeah I know...But I can still visit him in my dreams...ya' know?" They respond softly with their eyes watery and small smile.

And I know that he can never be real...

Y/N felt heat rise to their cheeks, hands reaching to grab the velvet-colored blanket next to them, "HAWKS!! Why are you so-so aAH!!??" They half-screeched, eyes watery as they were listening to Yagami Yato's new Hawks audio. *so sorry if you don't get it* Samantha looked at Y/N, half confused and understanding at the same time. "This dude sound like a fuckboi" Jake stated, looking at the two while doing chores. "What the hell-Is HE SHIRTLESS?" He said walking closer and looking at the screen with the in-deed shirtless Hawks. Y/N blushed again, "I am not ashamed Jake" Then proceeded to cover them-self and make in-human noises.

Samantha laughed as she got up, leaving Y/Nbfo their 'Hawks' and in-human noises. Samantha walked with Jake to Y/N's couch and plopped herself next to him. She knew Y/N and Jake had been best friends since, like, 7 years? That aside, both Samantha and Jake know that Y/N is a very kind person who, is very antisocial and Jake knows that Y/N would never leave nor betray him, and he appreciates that...But Jake also knows...That Y/N had abusive and manipulative lovers before, and understands why they won't take another lover.
