Kyoto

I groggily opened my eyes as the alarm on my side desk ringed for the second time. I shut it off and checked the time.

8:00

Oh no, we're gonna be late!!

I quickly and hurriedly did my hygiene routine and got my clothes on. I managed to gather my school supplies and rushed out my bedroom door.

I dashed into the kitchen, knowing Yoko was gonna be there. She always wakes up earlier than me.

"There you are!" She exclaimed while putting our fluffy pancakes in their containers.

"Yeah, I'm here

"Yeah, I'm here. Got everything?" I took my container and started putting on my sneakers.

"Of course!" She got her container and her backpack. She already had her sneakers on. "Let's go!"

We rushed outside and started running to school.

We're late. This usually isn't a big deal, because our school is usually laid back about this stuff, but today is special.

Today is when we apply to our new high schools. We're planning on becoming heroes. Maybe...even at UA.

While we're literally running as fast as we can, an alleyway comes up. We looked at each other.

"Shortcut?" I asked.

"Shortcut." She answered.

We immediately turned into the alley as I suddenly heard an explosion behind me. As I looked to see what it was, I heard Koko exclaim, "Watch it!"

I turned to see what was going on in time to crash into a boy that ran into me.

Of course, we both fell on the ground. And my head started to hurt from the sudden collision.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" I heard a nervous, apologetic voice frantically say to me. "Are you hurt?"

"No, I'm fine." I looked up to see a boy with freckles and greenish black hair. "You dropped some things, though. Let me help you with that."

I sat up and tried gathering his stuff for him.

"No, no, it's ok. I got it. You looked like you were in a rush."

"No, I should help you-"

"Kyoto, come on!!!" Koko yelled from around the building corner.

"You should get going. I got this, but thank you for trying to help."

"You're welcome. Bye!" I yelled as I got up and started running back to Koko, leaving him behind.

After I caught up with her, we continued running to the train station.

"Who was that boy?" She breathlessly asked as we get closer to the station.

"I don't know. He had a black uniform on, but I don't think I know what school he's from." I responded. "Why?"
